In a recent (5 months ago) interview Freddie Roach said: "I believe that Manny's best weight is 140lbs". Then Arum released his "Wish-List" of fighters for Manny to fight with two fighters at a weight of 140lbs. The "consensus" TOP-DAWG at 140lbs was Timothy Bradley...yet the list was JMM and Valero. And my response was DAMN....Why not Bradley?? Neither Valero nor JMM are or have never been ranked at 140lbs. And if a fan/poster ask why not fight Bradley or even Alexander (the TOP 2 fighters at 140lbs), IT IS SIMPLY A F***ING QUESTION...Not by any means suggesting someone is AVOIDING anyone.

Avoiding...by my definition, is when a fighter (Shane Mosley) goes to a fighters gym (Pacquiao) and BEGS and PLEADS for a fight and concedes all the advantages (dropping to 140lbs-142lbs) and the fighters "team" (Roach and Arum) refuses TWICE!!!! By definition....AVOIDING!!! Now the question remains...Did "Team Pacquiao" Avoid Shane Mosley because he's good...OR BECAUSE HE'S BLACK? Now I am going to go out on a limb here...And say it was because Shane was a TOP-NOTCH FIGHTER. Now I know there are a handful of posters with an EXTREME LACK OF COMPREHENSION SKILLS AND INTELLIGENCE that may believe that I think its' something different....And to them, I say: "**** OFF!!!"

My positions was and always remained...That it would have been a far better fight to see if Pacquiao vs Bradley or even Alexander...instead of "8 Punches per round" Joshua Clottey. That was a joke of a fight. And...I simply wanted to see Khan make his US debut against a fighter that can TEST HIS CHIN. And as much as I am rooting for Paulie...I would have like to see him fighter a BELT-HOLDER at 140lbs. But for the record...After fighting Witter on his home turf, then Cherry, Holt, Campbell, Peterson...It's safe to say: "BRADLEY IS AVOIDING NO-ONE!!!!

Khan is clearly being protected. If you can't see that, then there is something wrong. Frank Warren had deals setup for Khan to fight Bradley, Alexander, and Maidana. Khan responded by leaving Warren and going to GBP. Golden Boy immediately pays off Maidana to stay away from Khan for at least a year. They then try to match Maidana with both Alexander and Bradley in an attempt to have Maidana lose his no.1 WBA contender status.

Ever since Khan got starched, they've been matching him up with shot and/or featherfisted fighters. He's been very carefully matched and the Paulie fight is not an exception. Paulie is a handpicked opponent, plain and simple. Paulie has no power and you better believe the judges will favor Khan. This means that Paulie has to decisively outbox Khan in order to win. Given the two fighter's attributes, that simply isn't going to happen.

 

Given the tone of the question I doubt you are interested in a real answer. But he is not an American. He has to create his market here. Hold your horses. HBO barring really elite fighters are tough paymasters. He will be fighting a true contender by his 3rd fight in the US at the latest.

 

I think that American fight fans just wanna see if he (Khan) is the REAL DEAL. And can we really see that in a fight with Paulie Malignaggi?
