If that really is the case, it helps Kessler prepare for the fight, as come fight night he will be broken in. There is an argument to say that Froch has had it too easy with Bellew.

I would expect Froch to win via a UD 12.

What do you base that on. Groves has been so complimentary about Kessler and the only reason he is not coming out with prediction is because Froch is British and they have the same promoter.

If Kessler was looking terrible in sparring and getting handled easily by Groves and Cleverley then his team would just pull him out of the Froch fight and make up an injury. As someone pointed out though they obviously used both Groves and Cleverley to work on Kessler and put him under the kind of pressure he will expect with Froch. We all know Kessler is a force offensively but his defence has its faults so i'm sure alot of his training camp was geared towards that.

Kessler dosen't need Froch, could easily make World title defences in Denmark on PPV and make $1.5 million per defence but he and his team must be totally confident they will beat Froch else they wouldn't take the fight or go through with it.

 

Kessler didn't need Calzaghe. He also didn't need to enter the super six. He did so, because he is a class act who realised that for many greatness can only be achieved through risk. I don't think he's foolish to ignore the substantial risk that Froch poses to him.

 

Exactly spot on. I won't be surprised if Kessler does a real job on Froch tonight who seems over excited and over hyped.

 

I'm not sure if Kessler is still capable enough to do a job on Froch, but I think he can beat him. He's shown better ability to adapt in the ring, cutting inside to negate Froch on the inside in the first fight.

That said, I do agree that Froch has been somewhat out of character coming up to this fight. Sure, he's brash but some of what he's been saying is mental. This is the biggest fight of his career, and the pressure right now must be enormous. He wants revenge, he wants to set up big fights for the future, and the PPV angle must be increasing his anxiety.

There's no chance that he'll come marching out gung-ho to hammer Kessler, since the Dane is a sharper puncher who can really bang and he's tough enough to take it.

Froch will need to be patient and try to break Kessler down over the first six rounds before coming on. But I suspect Kessler is going to be a lot more flat-footed, committed to his body punching and looking to land heavy artillery in return.

Dftaylor shame you missed it mate. It was an entertaining fight again. Froch deserved to win the verdict this time. My opinion is that they have both gone backwards watching this fight mores Kessler. Tough guys though like they have always been. Ward will dominate both guys again. St George Groves is developing really nicely and can faceany Super Middleweight in the world other than Andre Ward and Andre Dirrell.
