Macklin lives about 2 miles from me and i'm one of his biggest fans but he has absolutely no chance whatsoever on Saturday and this will be his last World Title shot too in my opinion.

This is undeniably a MASSIVE step up for Golovkin.

For Macklin having faced Martinez and Sturm there is no way this can be considered a step up.

So on the basis the Macklin at elite level is the known quantity, I think the most likely outcome is a very tough fight that goes the distance or has a very late stoppage.

So, yes Macklin has a massive chance, he is just not the favourite ... but as we have seen so many times recently from Seth Mitchell to David Price , when you finally step up from fighting overmatched opponents (Old small Japanese lightweights in GGG's case) you can certainly be brutally exposed - so that is a possibility :good

I think GGG on points, quite close.

I would love to see Macklin do it and win as for us it sets up big local fights with Murray , Barker and to a extent Andy Lee. All big pay days for all invovled. If he and Barker both win a big unification fight between the 2 would be a must. Murray v Lee in a eliminator on the same bill to fight the winner in another fight for the titles would be class too. So I would pray Macklin wins saying that he has taken the hardest fight out there out of the 2 if you compare Barkers fight.

I can see Macklin giving him some trouble but, I'm not sold on this his stamina is good and he has a high output of punches.

Yes maybe he does but not at World level, he was nlucky versus Sturm but looked pretty gassed in the championship rounds, was gassed when done against Martinez.

Needs to control the output more so doesnt gas in the championship rounds.

Macklin gives it everything, but is stopped around the 6th or 7th.

Will probably get ripped for this but imoh, not much difference in power between Macklin and Proksa.

Proksa caused no problems to GGG and basically walked straight through him so may be able to do the same with Macklin.

thats not the point proksa had bad accuracy slower speed no movement poor workrate, its accumaltion of things that make the difference macklin has high workrate i think even tho he isnt the fastest hes sharper than proksa and more accurate hes also alot smarter, proksa was known as a banger but is technique is terrible

I was simply answering your question which I thought badlefthook was referring to.

Macklin may have high workrate but doesnt leave enough in the tank for the championship rounds, he needs to be more controlled so not smart enough.

I'd love to be proved wrong but Macklin is just a little short of winning a title and I fear the same is said for Barker and Murray they should definately face off against each other to get as much money out of the game as possible as they are fights the fans want to see.

Macklin will be a test for GGG no doubt, but he won't win

For those who think Macklin can win - how exactly does he do it?
