This is a great article, and a bit surprising to all the haters I'm sure. I'll be excited to see this.
Yes, it is. There are certain things you can't do when you're overweight. Also, joint pain and injuries are much, much more likely when you are carrying around an extra 20-30 pounds.
So Roy Jones Jr, who dominated Toney in their match, is a "runner" ??? The guy can talk some ****, but it seems like he can't really back it up. Nevertheless, I'll be rooting for him against Couture, even though I see this fight going badly for Toney.
Not that I know of ,and UFC never has proper boxing in it, why would it ? Why use that excellent footwork / body punches or counter technique or movement or infighting when all any idiot has to do is throw a kick out there its sloppy kickboxing when its stand up , they call it striking:good
He looked pretty much in good shape in the recent interviews. BTW when is this ****ing MMA fight with Randy?
Didn't read but it's pretty obvious UFC is setting him up to lose , otherwise whats the point throwing him in there with a strong wrestler . There are some people in UFC with mediocre wrestling , they could put hm in there against some strikers .
Nope, none that I've seen or heard of. Body work is infinitely easier when done with kicks. Mirko Cro Cop has some nasty highlight reel body kicks.
hes at heavyweight where there is no weight limit, the body fat is an advantage because it makes him harder to move
You mean the UFC photoshopped James Toney's picture!?!!? This content is protected But the UFC would NEVER do anything like that!!!!??!! Dana White = BWA HA HA HA HA
Actually, yes. Despite what several people have already said...but there is so much nonsense in this thread it makes my head hurt. Body kicks have stopped fights or brought about the end to them. Body punches are effective but not typically for ending a fight. The one glaring example I can think of is Smith vs. Sell. Well, sort of, but not really. It's weird. Pete Sell hurt Scott Smith really bad with a body shot...enough that it would have ended the fight but as Sell rushed in, Smith clipped him with a punch as Sell was coming in and that ended the fight... So, yeah...wait...brutally stopped? No. But Bas Rutten has ended a few of his fights with liver punches.
