So Apparently Margarito-Judah is being Negotiated for March

Margarito UD or TKO.

 

Great fight for both fighters. Judah should be game early on but once Margo gets into his groove he should win this. Props to Judah for seeking out a fight of this caliber.

This is a must win fight for Judah if he takes it, he is in serious jeopardy of becoming the premium gatekeeper in the welterweight division. Less than 2 years ago he was the undisputed welterweight champion, now he is maybe the 7th or 8th best welterweight. This will probably go as usual for most of Zab's fights. He will look good the first 4 or 5 rounds, before gassing out and being outhustled. This time he might get ko'd again though. I think he needs to go down to 140, where he can still make a lot of noise.

:rofl MUCH lighter puncher. If you think Margarito even has nearly the same punching power of Cotto then you know nothing. I'm not even going to go into Cotto's faster, more accurate hands and great power jab.

Styles you say? How is Margarito's style more effective against Judah than Cotto's?

Anyways, this is a 50/50 fight that Judah should win if he's completely focused. It's hard for me to see him completely focused though, so that's why it's so close.

 

I'm picking Judah on this one.

The Mexican has iron in his chin, and is mentally superior and can't be hurt by Judah, i doubt this will go over 6 or 7.

Cotto's power is not what it was at 140 and you'll see this when he faces big welters like Clottey. Margarito is easily the second hardest hitter at 147, the first being Cintron. I suspect that Judah will have a panic attack when Margo laughs at his best shots then proceeds to whoop his ass all over the ring until the ref stops it.

 

cotto ower was nothing compared to what it is now, at 140 he was dehydrated, he fought in spurts due to fatigue and was sort of lethargic, at 147 he is a beast.

 

At 147 his chin and stamina have improved quite a ways but his power has clearly dropped off. It was something I immediately noticed compared with his previous fights. It took him a lot more punches than usual to stop small welterweights like Urkal and Judah. Actually that Urkal TKO wasn't even a real stoppage since their corner threw in the towel to protest his kidney punches. He also did not even come close to stopping an older Mosley so his punches have lost some of their clubbing effect that was so pronounced at 140 when he was still killing himself to make weight.
