I do not box anymore, but will get back into it soon. But do you believe yourself to be a puncher and did you have to train for it ,or did people recognize it from day 1? Also if you are or aren't, how is your punching speed? Personally ,my first day walking into the gym. With the absoloute sloppiest form ever (i'm surprised I didn't get kicked out, that's how bad it was) I had the biggest punch in the gym from day 1 as I was hitting the bags and everyone who pretty much did hold the bags for me during exercises would be shocked at it. The trainer was also shocked and was a douchebag(he was a nice guy later, maybe he was at a bad spot in his life) and for some reason put me in sparring with a guy who had been there for 5 years and would be the hell out of me. Hit me on the jaw constantly (luckily not on the chin as I might have been knocked out) and hard too. I was afraid of hitting him back hard becuase I was thinking he is holding back. so he starts to infight and I hit him somewhere and he just froze up and covered his face with his gloves not throwing back. Needless to say, I never sparred that dude again and would make excuses not to. There were beginners and there were advanced and after 8-12 months I was put in the advanced people's groups which most people are after 8-12 months, but I would run back to the beginner people (not beating anyone up,because I could'nt really) because the guys in the advanced fighters had people like him there and the trainer would give me **** for not training with the advanced fighters and such. I was made fun of for being slow though. I was called like Snorlax ( I was pretty fat) and people who didn't know what Snorlax was would call me that. Nothing mean, just ball busting but still. So how about you?
If your hips turn your shoulders and you’re at your preferred weight you’ll hit as hard as you were ever meant to IMO.
