So are we going to give Wide UD's to fighters who don't try and hurt their opponent?

No, we give wide UD's to fighters that win the vast majority of the rounds, which Mayweather did.

Would I have been more impressed if Floyd really hurt Manny? Yes, but I've seen Floyd fight many times before and I know he doesn't like to engage any more than he has to. If he went out there and really went tooth and nail with Pacquiao he would have lost. Instead he fought the fight on his terms as he always does. That's how he stays winning. Not everybody likes it, but that's how it goes.

He did. He hurt him enough or presented him with the threat of being hurt multiple times. That's why after he felt the left hand he retreated to the ropes.

In addition, Pacquiao was the boxer trying to hurt his opponent. I can't give too many rounds to a boxer who concedes rounds (what Floyd did).

Answer this question. In professional boxing (not amateur) what is a boxer trying to do if he's not trying to hurt his opponent?

Go ahead. I'm willing to learn. If you have a good enough argument you may persuade me.

You won't find many other people willing to admit they were wrong in an argument, but I am the kind of guy who will.

    So what it is it????

If a boxer isn't trying to hurt his opponent in a professional bout then what is he trying to do?

I'll file the appeal...will you second it for me? It can't go through due process without a second and you seem pretty passionate about the cause.

Judging boxing is subjective. That criteria doesn't prove Floyd won. I could easily make the argument that out of those 4 categories, Pac won.

Manny won the "effective aggression" category.
Manny won the "clean effective punching" category. (he landed the more significant punches, and more combination punches)
    Floyd won the "Defense" category.
And "ring generalship" was a tie". (first half of the fight, before Floyd started running Manny dictated the pace...clearly...in the 2nd half of the fight Floyd dictated ring generalship and made Manny chase)

If each of those 4 categories is weighed equally, I can easily make the argument Pacquiao won just as you can make the argument Mayweather won.

I'm not saying you are right or I am right. I am simply stating it is all subjective and you are entitled to your belief that based on that criteria Floyd won, and I could use the same criteria and say Pac won. It's all how you explain why you believe what you believe.

If you don't believe me, remember Pacquiao Bradley? Remember how sure the HBO guys were that Pac won. But then Bradley got the decision and everyone was shocked!
