That's the unfortunate state the welterweight division is in. There are no better opponents available, because he can't fight the following:

    - Pac for obvious reasons
    - Martinez is too big and dangerous
    - Canelo is too green

The next best lot of fighters for Floyd to pick are amongst the likes of Ortiz, Alexander, Matthysse, Garcia, Khan, etc. Guerrero is no worse than any of them.

Remind me again why he cant fight Pac? Pac has given in to all his demands, is on the verge of retirement and given Floyd the bigger share of the purse. 55% from Pac is bigger than 100% from Guerrero fight.

He can't wait 2 weeks to check the result of Pac-JMM? Also Martinez would come down to 154, he beat Cotto at 154 and in fact fought at this weigh 5 or so years ago. I dont see why he cant fight Martinez at this weight. Canelo is green but no way Canelo would turn down a fight with Floyd.

All these fights are available to him, for a guy who fights once a year, 4th or 5th option simply isnt good enough. If he fought 2-3 times a year, this can be excused as a tune up.

I'd rather see Floyd vs Garcia than Guerrero. Leave Floyd to fight the weakest link.

    Even at 154.

Don't get me wrong, Cotto has skills, but he's taken 2 beatings of a lifetime and been in several wars before Floyd fought him.

We'll see where Cotto is by how he performs against Trout. If Trout, who is mediocre beats him down, then that will severly taint Floyd's victory.

Guys like Angulo, Canelo, and Lara offered sterner challenges for Floyd even if some were undeserving.

But all of those guys are at least as deserving as Guererro, except for Angulo; however, in all honesty, I'd rather watch Floyd against Angulo than Guererro.

At least Angulo has size and strength.

That's why the above three are out of the question and pointless talking about.

True, except for Canelo, Angulo, Lara, Martinez, and others in his own division.

Remember, this is the same guy that dominated Cotto, yet he's too scared and too small to fight in his own division?

Sounds like a fake ass champion to me, especially when Cotto is fighting Trout.

Bradley, Garcia (esp if he beats Judah ... yes he can fight at 147) Winner of Cotto-Trout ....

With that being said, I do think Guerrero has earned the right to at least be possibility though due to his "Hatton vs Tzuyu" like win over Berto.

I don't get this ****. Has Guerrero not earned his shot? He became the interim WBC champ against Aydin, then defended it against the former WBC champ in Berto. The only last WBC champ is Ortiz, who is still out getting his jaw repaired.

He's earned his shot IMO. That is how boxing used to work before PPV and protected 0's came into the picture.
