It wasn't a close fight. Danny absolutely had NO moments! It was all Peterson all the time. The reason for the disparity in how some people see this fight is based on the initial 6 rounds. Lamont controlled the 1st six rounds with his jab. Peterson did a lot of moving and jabbing which wasn't exactly fun to watch, however it was very effective. by round 3 Danny's face reflected the damage of Peterson's jab. Garcia on the other hand was doing his best to close the gap and land his offense which was mostly body shots. He was missing a lot and when he did hit something it was mostly Petersons elbows and arms. Danny just didn't have any answers for the movement and jab for the first half of the fight. Round 6 we saw Peterson begin to shift his attack. Lamont began to walk Garcia down, landing his own body attack and landing very short hooks on the inside that found their mark consistently. Peterson dominated on the inside. The last 4 rounds Danny was in retreat and Peterson was slowly breaking Garcia down. If Peterson had power Danny really would have been in some trouble. The fact that Danny is durable and Lamont is more of a sharp puncher vs a power puncher allowed Garcia to survive and only take a beating....
Close fight. LP won. I had it 6-5 and one round even. LP started doing major damage late in the fight. Early on LP was moving too much. He landed a few jab but he missed a lot. Danny was landing some body shots and right hands and then he couldn't find LP. You'll see.
lol.....I've been called worse. Look. I love my boy Danny but he got beat up, period. It happens to the best of them. Look at how Lucas got beat up by Danny and how Lucas beat up Lamont. Styles make fights. All these boys are quality fighters who on their best nights can look like ATGs, but Danny didn't last night.
We know Danny lost, but it wasn't a whitewash. LP made it seem that way with the late rounds damage he inflicted which makes everyone at times forget about the early rounds scoring.
I had Peterson narrowly winning but it was very close and certainly wasn't a robbery. I actually thought the judges did an admirable job for this and Lee-Quillen.
And the unofficial scorecards were worse than EVER:wall:ahhhh Great fight as I have never seen a boxer so frustrated, like Danny, that they just stop and ask the opponent to please stop moving and come here so I can hit youatsch Lamont got to him:hey :smoke
Not much damage ya say:huh Danny looked like he was thrown out of a car at the end of the fight :!: :rofl
Either watch on mute or don't and pay attention to how quick SRL (backed up by Flores) tries to play Danny by saying Lamont's running is "boxing beautifully" Eventually they got Albert thinking Lamont was winning easy, this continued until about midways when Farhood's card was read, and he had it like the judges with Danny clearly winning the majority of early rounds, you could then hear pin drops from the commentating crew. I found it hilarious they (SRL Flores, Albert doesn't know any better) didn't even try to put up an argument against Farhood's card, they acted like they knew they were caught red handed in lies, it was laughably pathetic.
Ha. I'm actually a huge SRL fan as a fighter...but as you can see by my comment, not a big fan of his commentary.
deal Isn't it weird how the discrepancy between Farhood and SRL wasn't even addressed? I can't imagine how confused a boxing noob would be.
please...Farhood is by far the best judge in the media. I think you and the 20th century icon, Sugar Ray Leonard, should take some advice from another 20th century icon.....Michael Jackson. And look at the Man in the Mirror, rather than bash good ole Stevey FyoHood
