Is it happening? Both agreed to fight under ******s last bill but Tony couldn't lose the weight fast enough. Tony came through against McKenzie while Cleverley defended his title

Could we see this fight next? Id have to back Cleverley, just overall better boxing skills and technique, but Tony does have a punchers chance

Ill be there anyway cheering on the Bomber, even tho he is a blue nose :bbb

Should be a great fight when it comes off

Technically both aren't great but i reckon Cleverley would stop him just on volume of punching. The build up would be better than the fight itself.

pretty sure its gonna be October 1st in Liverpool.

Cleverly is better than Bellew in every department and he will prove it by trading bombs with Tony from round 1 and stopping him early.

Way too early for Bellew, he should atleast fight a few European level fighters before going after Cleverley. Clev needs a big name to legitimise his title reign.

Agree but if Bellew lost then he can rebuild quite easily by taking the same route as you mention above. His Career wont be dented massively by a loss, and if he puts on a good show (win, lose or draw) then he's quids in.

I had hoped to see it around xmas 2012 though if both are still going well.

I'd agree that Clev is better is most departments - I think Bellew would have the advantage in power though.

    Clev by mid-rounds stoppage.

    If Clev trades, he loses.

Bellew may be a bigger pucnher but Clev is more accurate and has the better chin, and faster. so when they trade Clev wins.

Clev don't hit hard enough to put Tony down and keep him there early.

If he stops him it will be on accumalation late.

If he trades he is giving away all of his advantages.

I was excited about this fight until the Ovill McKenzie rematch, which frankly bored me to sleep. That particular fight wasn't exciting enough to set up a world title fight, especially after the hugely exciting multi-knockdown slug fest it followed.

This fight was always going to happen though. Both fighters are under Uncle Fwank, saving on costs, politics, red tape, negotiation etc. It's a relatively cheap and easy world title fight to make, is relatively low risk for him, and has the footage of THAT press conference to build upon. It also follows the pattern of Fwanks world champions having easy first few defenses to a tee.

And yes, Cleverly has more than enough. Stoppage around 7 or 8, probably by the referee with a bashed-up but still swinging Bellew protesting loudly.

In reality there is no way that Bellew should even be getting a shot at Cleverly, so in a way he's marketed himself quite well, and engineered the fight in a very clever manner, by simply winding Cleverly up and getting under his skin. Although I believe the mutual dislike is 100%.

Although I think Cleverly could bang with Bellew, he almost definatly should not as I believe its the only way he could lose. he should simply pick of the far less techincal "Bomber" and use his much better ring craft and skills to wear him down.

Should be an interesting fight though, and I fully expect to see it in the next 2 or 3 months.

Agreed. Bellew is still rough and inexperienced, and at this early stage is predictable and one-dimensional. Cleverly to hack him apart with well-placed, educated shots. What Bellew does have in abundance is power, but without a classy enough method of delivering that power it's null.
