History is littered with examples of challengers getting more than the challenger.

Kessler-Stieglitz: Yeah a pursebid means that the champ gets the lions share of the purse. There are ways around that though. Kessler can negotiate a higher salary from his promotor if his promotor wins the bid. Sauerland is a much bigger player than SES and all they have to do is bid more than SES to win. They can probably make a winning bid and still have revenue to give.

So you'd take the offer if you where Bute?

PS: Showtime doesnt select anything. They are not promotors. But the can elect not to show a fight Bute and the Pillsbury Doughboy.

Kessler got more than that for fighting a group stage match in the S6.

If its idd true, it just proves yet again what Bute and Interbox is all about.

I don't why we discuss of all this. This is pathetic. 750k...pretty sure they talk about an aspect in the contract that would bring 750k to the table but...they surely don't talk about what is surrounding the fight itself, the TV rights and everything. The 750k was probably a guarantee. Probably a "part" of this is true but they choosed what they wanted to talk about in the contract offer to save Kessler reputation if you ask me.

honest answer is Bute bring a 2M$ deal with Showtime with him and you give Kessler 1.25M$ to Kessler... it doesnt work that way.

no it isn't. if you can name 10 fights where thats true; i can name over a a hundred thousand where it isn't true. it is a tiny % & not a precedent.

so; are you saying kessler will get more for facing stieglitz than bute? cos i doubt it.

I agree with you. It's just that this thread was made Bute look a fool with his offer. What I'm saying is Kessler's team made another choice than Bute. I'm not saying Kessler run away, or that he is afraid of Bute or anything. I mainly try to refute the OP.

    So you wouldn't accept it?

I could also argue that Kessler could bring a gate in Denmark far exceeding the gate in Montreal, which he'd have to forfeit to get Bute in the ring.

Nah I think Bute (personnaly) offered 1k to Kessler.
    On the phone.

(rumors also said he dialed the wrong number which I tend to believe since calling to another country can be tricky sometimes with all the codes and everything...)

What I'm saying is Bute bring 2M with him. Let's give him at the very least half... not less. We are talking about guarantee money.

For me, the only thing I want is for both boxer to not get robbed. Since showtime give 2M for the fight, I'm sure they will want the fight in prime time. So if Kessler and Bute dont mind making the fight at showtime wanted time in est time, I really dont care where the fight is held with neutral judge and ref.
