It's true that Calzaghe's power isn't what it used to be, since to compensate for his lack of handspeed he has to throw less committed shots. It's also true that Calzaghe chose the right tactic (to outwork Hopkins) as opposed to Winky and Tarver who tried to box with Hopkins. Pavlik of course tried to do what Calzaghe did, but lacks Calzaghe's skilled footwork.

Basically you are forced to admit the main thrust of my argument: Calzaghe FORCED Hopkins to run away, clinch like Ruiz and fake low blows. THAT is why Calzaghe is so great.

Even though a past his best Calzaghe beat a past his best Hopkins and from that we can rationally work out that a prime Calzaghe would beat a prime Hopkins?
