There is alot of up coming heavyweights many of them just 2-3 fights out from top ten and title shots.......you gotta watch all the fights out their

Dubois was IMO working Joe Joyce over until his eye....he is a top heavyweight but we will see. Joyce is big and a great chin but he is limited skillwise......his chin, size, fitness and constantly stalking like a cyborg will keep him competitive.

Hrgovic looks real good an all around talent...there is a video of him schooling Wilder in sparring

I am expecting big things from Ruiz if his new found fitness under Canelos people is true he will be champion again

I'm waiting for Hrgović vs Hunter, Dubois can still come back because he's young. Young Jared Anderson has some serious power, Wardley did not show anything spectacular against Moline yesterday, but we will see everything in the future, there are currently young talents who could be good ...

They're established guys so the money is still pouring in. They'll push the younger guys once Povetkin and Pulev disappear, Hrgovic for example can become he new Eastern Threat. Ajagba, Bakole, DDD, Wallin, will all eventually take centre stage but, damn they need a personality first! People want characters. It's like WCW without a script in the ring.

They also need some wins against some name opposition, if not each other.

Joyce fought DDD and his win elevated him significantly.

Completely agree we need younger HWs given these big fights.

Why was the corpse of Povetkin dug up for the first fight?

There are enough great HWs who are aren’t 35 or older and deserve a shot.

For me it reeks of the guys at the top of the division taking the easy option, and not taking any risks. The promoters and the boxing organisations should have higher standards, they are making the sport look like a joke.

    Yeah.
    beacuse this:
HW division is a joke if compare with CW division, so low number with not easy to predict fights outcome. Boring, exception are some upsets, this doesn't change boring impression from HW division.

Yeah, cos this is called HW and ppl love to watch large boxers.

To be honest I value stadium MT over pro boxing if as spectactor. Also MMA.
I ofc still remain a bit about boxing but too predictable matchups devalues boxing in my eyes.
Also this noise about holy 0 does not helps boxing to be more popular.

It's because the old guys like Povetkin have name recognition and will arguably sell more tickets.

The name also looks good on a fighter's resume.

But I agree with you in principle, it's time for the next generation of HWs to step up and into the limelight.

Yeah. The same had happened with old Tyson, Holyfield, Ali, Holmes etc alike.
A lot of fighters over the hill.

Name recognition helps sell tickets and attract mass media.

After Fury deals with AJ he will 100% vacate a number of them belts, if he isn't stripped beforehand.

He isn't paying out especially for commissions like the IBF who have wronged him.

2022 should be a free for all. All the people with money and connections will get a title shot.

This is why belts really are irrelevant. The "imaginary" lineal title actually holds the most value.

Fury will run off to America and get squandered by Arum whilst grasping onto the WBC belt. It's a damn shame & I'm man enough to admit it.

I pretty much agree with the part about the belts not being all that relevant anymore.

Maybe in the beginning, they a fighter build credibility but at some point, fighters can be a draw with or without a belt.
