So can we now say Whyte 100% ducked Ortiz?

Reminder that as Whyte has pumped hundreds of thousands of £££ into the WBC in sanctioning fees no wonder he's obliged to now "stay loyal"

Although shame the WBC are massively ****ing him about

Bumping up year old threads to score points on a forum - you're better than that. I've said it before, but it's just a forum. It really doesn't matter that much.

The guy took the time out of his day to share his opinion on this forum, clearly the forum matters to that person. I am simply here to invalidate his opinion and contribution to this community.

It's less about scoring points because I can't collect points and buy something from the shop. It's more about standing up for the truth no matter what the platform or forum may be.

It goes against my principal to stand idly by while someone goes about misleading others... in this case the boxing community and its worldwide readers about Dillian Whyte.

You must understand Furious, that many posters on here have ulterior motives, they live to misinform, and spread lies. I am merely the opposing force, the counterbalance.

The liars start the fire, I merely come over to stamp it out.

Has been the number 1 for the WBC for what over 3 years now?

Turning down Pulev to fight Parker instead for money - I see no issue in this:

    - Parker is former WC unlike Pulev.

    - Whyte is already number 1 with WBC. Hearn would probably advise Whyte to take the WBC route because no way is Wilder fighting AJ or Whyte unless ordered by the WBC.

Whyte turning Ortiz fight down to fight Chisora in rematch for much more money. Again I see no issue with this:

    - Ortiz is nobody whose last and only notable career win was in 2015 against Jennings. Whyte claims whilst Ortiz was with Matchroom, Ortiz turned down offers to fight Whyte and fought Allen and Scott in which Ortiz didnt impress. Whilst with the Chisora rematch Whyte got to set the record straight as some people thought Chisora edged the first fight (I didnt I had Whyte winning by a few rounds) in what were two very entertaining fights.

Now Whyte is fighting one of the hardest punchers and best fighters in the divison in Povetkin. If Whyte wins this fight (big if), he then gets his WBC mandatory shot next Feb (unless a unification fight is made around that time and if that happen he would fight the winner next).

Nothing wrong with his decisions at all, the issue most of us took with him was how he then complained about not getting a title shot despite not taking the required eliminators and ultimately turning down a world title shot when it was presented to him. I know it was just media chat to try and sell his fights but it's a legitimate gripe.

I'd be hard pressed to call Povetkin one of 'hardest punchers and best fighters' in the division at this stage of his career though. He's still useful but not one of the best in the division what so ever

    Exactly and also...

Instead he is fighting POVETKIN of all people.. hell of a tick over fight huh? His only 2 losses are Joshua and Vlad

Why doesnt he do nothing??? Like Pulev and Breazeale and many others with title shots????????????

He's got tons of cash now... so THIS is why I have a problem with posters who say he is running and ducking.... THIS is why I am so aggravated.

    @Furious

Actions always speak louder than words, and Whyte has demonstrated time and time again that he is the bravest guy out here... and still we have people accusing him of ducking... what the actual F man!

It's not me being a fan of Whyte... it's knowing what I know about his actions and how someone is insulting him by diminishing his bravery while everyone else in the division ducks and runs.

Shot old Povetkin being built up into a legitimate threat. Whyte is going to proper starch him with the first meaningful hook he lands.

Whyte could have had a world title shot against AJ last summer but rejected it over the fine printt/mid cycle and then got caught juicing. So I don’t buy into the poor hard done by act he churns out. I’m glad he’s back, entertaining to watch but not to listen to.

Yeah I like Whyte, looking forward to this fight a great deal. It's great to see the top 10 guys fighting eachother and I hope it continues. I agree with you on that but don't see the value in bumping up old threads, that's all.

Povetkin is not who he was but I still see him as a more credible opponent than Ortiz

Povetkin isn’t what he would be if he was years younger but he’s still miles better than Ortiz and has more than proved that.

No sanctioning body wants a guy like Whyte as their champion

Between failed drugs tests, shady gloves, his out of ring behaviour. Can hardly blame them

Exactly, they want Wilder to remain a champion...

Mr "I want a body on my record" "I want to experience pregnancy" "I lost the fight because my costume was too heavy for my legs bruh"

Yes you are right, Povetkin is still miles ahead of Ortiz as a stronger challenge. Ortiz is a hypejob like Kownacki

I thought we had moved past the phase where Ortiz was this supposed banana skin for everyone in the division.
