He's not as bad as advertised but he did not give Kownacki all he could handle. The Pole won it comfortably, with the first six rounds or so completely uncontested. The judges screwed him out of the big victory he deserved, and the myth of a close fight solidified. I almost laughed at one point when Martin finally started fighting back and Kownacki looked genuinely annoyed.

That being said, Martin is better than anyone Wilder has ever beaten.

I would have to disagree. Usyk is fast not particularly skilled. Big difference. A "skilled" fighter doesn't have a decent fringe contender from Latvia going upside his head for 12 rounds.

    And I like him.

Ortiz is not that good. His reputation is predicated on wins over Jennings, who is a hair better than Szpilka, and post-40 Tony Thompson. He could not even KO Malik Scott. And he had high blood pressure, and was barely cleared to fight.

Ortiz was a good fighter when he was on PEDs. He got busted and has never been the same since. That is why Wilder agreed to fight him.

LOL. So why ''unskilled'' Usyk dominated unified champion Murat Gassiev winning every round? Why he dominated Glowacki, Huck? He is about 1000 000 times more skilled than your foavourite fighter Deontay Wilder

Hard to believe that a boxing writer would even state that, when Wilder is the one going life and death with cans, pastry chefs, former football players etc. Joshua has beaten all the name legit top 10 guys that he has fought.

He's not my favorite fighter, I don't have one, and I agree.

That still doesn't mean he's skilled.

Ortiz was good enough to put Wilder on ***** street and almost stop him in the 7th.

Something that Tyson Fury who is universally recognised as being in the top 4 at HW wasnt even close to doing

So clearly Ortiz wasnt that bad when he faced Wilder, and Wilder isnt as bad as a lot of people here are trying to make out. His power makes up for his severe technical deficiencies.

I do think alot of people were fooled by Martin's performance against AJ into thinking he was a complete bum, but he clearly is a lot better than that now we look at other fights since then

Why not. he's a good solid world champ. He's done a good job, I'm happy for him. I don't see him in the hall of fame though.

Fury isn't a puncher, lost 130 pounds, and actually beat Wilder. 86% of the boxing community knows it.

Ortiz isn't that good, neither is Wilder, and Fury will be even more dominant next time out.

To be fair, Kownacki isn't exactly Joe Louis. He's just the next guy who'll get bludgeoned by one of the big three.
