    so close ending it just had nothing left in the tank. He clearly should have trained harder and it would have been his. The difference between his hungry father and his pampered son. An no this isnt a chavez bashing thread. Roach after the eleventh shows that he needs a different trainer u always go down with the ship not sell ur guy out.

    Martinez was fighting back and i thought was recovering every second. if the fight was 15 rounds i would bet martinez stops him in the next 2 since chavez jr was gassed.

    I thought the same thing. But He did have enough in the tank, just lacked the skill. Chavez got my respect. He demonstrated heart, and never got discouraged as he kept pushing forward trying for that KO. Martinez was able to get Chavez to respect him in that fight, and that was the difference, Chavez was thinking too much and second guessing his attacks.
