Unlike the 32 year old prospect whose nuts you're hanging on, Cotto moved up four weight divisions to do what he did last night. Can Golovkin do that?

Funny you can't give credit to a former junior welterweight for beating the legitimate middleweight champion.

    Again with the willful ignorance.
Martin Murray was Golovkin's mandatory and passed.
Quillin declined to fight Golovkin before the GBP/HBO **** and before Quillin had a title.
How is Golovkin supposed to 'beat somebody" when "somebody" won't get in the ring?
I'm still waiting for that answer.
Martinez would have been seriously f*cked up if it was Golovkin in the ring Saturday night. It would've happened last week, it would've happened in Sept. 2012. That is why Martinez or DiBella or who ever made sure the fight never happened.
It's what people have been trying to tell you for awhile.
Martinez was never going to fight Golovkin and Cotto will not fight Golovkin.

first world title fight (interim WBA): JMW Milton Nunez
first world title fight (interim WBA elevated to full WBA): JMW Nilson Tapia
World title defenses against JMW's: Nobuhiro Ishida, Gabriel Rosado, Kassim Ouma

^ That is 5 of his 11 world title fights. Almost half. Against Junior Middleweights.

I would say that qualifies as "a bunch," wouldn't you?

    ------

    As for your question:

He is the highest qualified current MW contender to vie for the lineage, absolutely.

I have never claimed otherwise for about a year now.

Yeah because that was "prime" Martinez lol.
If Golovkin had smashed the Martinez from Saturday, you f*ckers would not give him any credit.
Who(in your opinion) does Golovkin have to beat to get a shot at Miguel Cotto?:rofl

    Ishida was a MW.
Rosado went from being a little guy getting picked on by Golovkin to a MW when he fought Love and Quillin.
Rosado declined the catch weight offer from Golovkin's team. He fought at 160lbs.
Those fights weren't for the lineal MW title.

We don't give him credit because we're not overwhelmed by hype. Respect is earned not given, you need to understand that. No one gave a **** or knew who Sergio was until he took matters into his own hands and proved that he belonged among the best. He made no excuses, jumped one weight higher and fought the middleweight champion.

Like Sergio, no one knew who Adonis Stevenson was untill he took matters into his own hands. He jumped up a weight glass and fought the light heavyweight champion of the world.

Even though both men were more accomplished at that point in their careers, they did not receive a fraction of the hype handed to Golovkin.

"Apparently" cotto's team have already contacted sam soliman's team for a possible unification bout, i think cotto see's Soliman as a easy picking but will prob go for the pay day for Lara or canelo.

Hahahahah, ok.... Obviously you didn't like my response at all.

What does being for the lineal MW title have to do with it?

We are simply talking about boxers' accomplishments in the MW division...

Ishida had one fight at MW before facing Golovkin. A one sided decision loss to Dmitry Pirog... He was a JMW.

Rosado had never faced anything close to a fringe contender, even, at MW. Golovkin was his first after an impressive little winning streak at JMW over Sechew and Soto Karass. Just because he stayed in the MW division after the fight doesn't mean that he was a MW before the fight.

As for the 158 lb catchweight Golovkin was going to fight Rosado at, so what? Rosado claimed he wanted to get full credit for the win and accepted a small payment to increase the weight to the full MW limit. How does that make him any less of a JMW? 158 and 160... both are MW, bro.

    Nice attempt, though.

A guy who hasn't "beat nobody" at MW is going to go to SMW and get a fight with the undisputed champ? How does that work?
Golovkin hasn't done enough to "earn" a shot at the lineal title @160 but he needs to go up and fight for title @168? Do you not understand how stupid you people are saying that?
Do you think that little of Andre Ward? A guy with supposedly "no wins" could move up and get a shot?:rofl
Golovkin fights 3-4 times a year, why hasn't Ward's team sent an offer?
Ward is on the shelf either by his own choice or his promoter's choice.
Golovkin was going up in weight to fight Chavez Jr on PPV but Chavez Jr didn't want it.
Who(in your opinion) does Golovkin have to beat to get a shot at Miguel Cotto?:rofl

Murray went to Argentina and clearly won the fight. but he knew he wouldn't get the decision over there. we all knew that.

forget what he promised if he beat Cotto. the facts are that he decided to take on other fighters for years without getting in there with the one most wanted to see him fight. he came out with bull**** excuses by saying it never made that much money, when fights with Murray, Barker, Macklin, and Dzinziruk would have made less.

i argue with the truth. not some insecure little opinion that you often come out with because you have a problem. and you show the problem you have by bringing up Calzaghe/Hopkins in this Thread.

so don't be a *****, just go and put some cream on that sore Arse of yours that i beat black and blue on here every time we come into contact. :|

Sergio made the choice to fight who he did. Golovkin wasn't allowed that luxury. he had to fight who ever was willing to fight him.

This is how matchups are made. At the primary stage of fight negotiation,
1.) A party shows interest in fighting another party.
2.) If the other party shows interest in the potential fight, then the party that made the initiation sends a contract.
Wards team have shown interest in fighting Golovkin. At this point Golovkins team have made it known that they're not interested in a fight in Ward. Ward can't send Golovkin a contract if Golovkin and his team are not interested in a Ward fight. Do you understand that now.
