Lineal claim to the Championship but not the best in the division.

I don't care if he's lineal, super or ring champ , I know that Golovkin would ko him . I know that GGG would beat him and another thing I know is that he'll never fight GGG.

    Good point! :deal

GGG deserves a shot at the title and I honestly think that it was going to happen if Martinez would've beaten Cotto. Martinez had no more $ options at HBO. With Cotto as champion he has so many not named Golovkin. Its sad because the lineal MW belt will be disputed among WW's more likely Pac or Floyd vs Cotto or a JrMW Canelo while the true MW'S will get screwed. I am in no way shape or form a Golovkin nuthuggger but he deserves a shot at the title.

And this is coming from a big Martinez fan :thumbsup

HBO wants a Golovkin Vs. Cotto fight, but Cotto will refuse to fight Golovkin because he knows Golovkin will knock him out!!! Pac beat the living hell out of Cotto, made him a bloody mess, stopped him..............

Roy Jones was out on his own as #1 at LHW, but technically I believe DM was considered lineal champ too.

This will also be a tough fight for both even if everyone is completely overlooking Cotto yet again. I expect this fight to be very competitive early and if Golovkin is able to handle Cotto's power then I see him slowly breaking Cotto down and stop him late. The longer the fight goes the better things will go for Golovkin. Expect to see Cotto outboxing him early and making him miss a lot, if he can keep it up then it's definitely Cotto's fight. I personally think Cotto won't be able to keep it up for the full 12 rounds and end up gassing and slowly breaking down and stopped late(Rounds 9-11).

    What's your pick and how?

Another good example, in a different division.

Robinson was in another stratosphere back in the 40's at WW long before he finally became champion. And so it goes.

    Yes, it's pretty common.

    Others:

Michael Spinks being linear HW champ when Mike Tyson was cleaning out the division.

George Foreman and Shannon Briggs being linear HW champs from 94-98

Sammy Serrano at 130 when Alexis Arguello was the best fighter in the division.

Joel Casamayor was lineal at 135 when he beat Corrales, but then got a total gift against Santa Cruz, and no one was calling him the best at 135 after that.

The #1 and #2 in a division fighting can establish a new lineage if the old one is vacated.

Cotto's lineal title is one that is established already.

you AND Nonito were wrong. which is why Nonito hasn't made any further posts afterwards. but you're still here, trying to get the last word in. don't be insecure, just accept you're stupid. that way you won't have to get confused like you did do. :patsch

    ******.

as i say, you're left Black and Blue every time we come into contact. :-(

erm, Andre's team came out to the media and said they've been offered the rematch with Kessler, but they wanted to be paid more.

if you want that information, do your own research.

    Oh, I'm still here.

There is just nothing more to be said when I have looked into it further and found myself to be correct.

If you aren't going to listen or look into it yourself, then what can I do?
