Clottey is quoted in today's Boxing News saying that he will be using similar tactics to Margarito... So that's two bricks in the gloves then...

Clottey seems unaware he has neither Margarito’s awkwardness nor stamina. Plus, Clottey was hurt by light punching Baldomir and very small Judah (just prior to the fight being stopped).

His claims that he’ll take any inspiration from Tony are just pathetic. What he does have is size and a tight guard, but he’s a moderately good boxer. Average handspeed, poor punch selection due to that high guard, plodding footwork and limited power.

He won’t bring pressure the way Margo did because that was workrate based pressure, Clottey is all about bulk and size. Cotto will use angles to unload body shots on Clottey early on and use his head movement to keep Clottey’s predictable 1-2s off him.

Mid-way point, Clottey will be tiring and Cotto will be mixing his shots up with quick combos and his own deceptively fast hands will be busting the other man’s face up.

I can see this being a distance fight, but Cotto’s so destructive I can also see a stoppage.

I’m ignoring Clottey’s abilities a little, but while he may cause Cotto some issues in the mid rounds, maybe landing a hand cross that discombobulates Miguel briefly, I can’t see him losing to the big dude.

Cotto will out box Clottey early doors look real sharp and show his great skills. He will hurt Clottey but Clottey will come into fight as it wears on and catch Miguel and cause some worries as Miguel likes to live life on the edge but i see Miguel winning this and redefining his status as one of the best in sport today. He will need to come off at angle and keep Clottey turning and throw twos and threes and dip and roll. I'm sure Miguel will have right plan he a smart guy.

Cotto for a comfortable points victory - possible late stoppage.

I'll stick my neck out and say Cotto KO 10.

I think that the Margo fight took a lot out of Cotto, maybe too much for him to beat Clottey.

I'm really looking forward to this, though, especially now Setanta look to have been saved.

This is a great fight, two of the top 5 in the division going at it.

I will plump for a Cotto UD, I think Clottey has too good of a defence and a decent chin to be stopped and will be close fight once Clottey brings it back in the late rounds.

Would not be surprised if Clottey were to win, because he has the tools to do so.

Bob "The Colonel" Sheridan is my favourite. Many commentators need somebody else with them to fill in the gaps, but The Colonel always does a great job on his own.

Can you imagine Duke Mckenzie commentating for 12 rounds all on his own?

I favour Cotto to win a decision (can't see him stopping Clottey who is hard as nails), however, would not be especially surprised if Clottey walked him down and wore him out.
