No it is not because 155 to 160 is considered Middle weight. Marvin Hagler would weigh anywhere between 158 to 160 but a majority of his fight he weighed 158.

Still why is Cotto draining the value of the Lineal belt, by demanding couple of ounces, very dumb move.

Either demand a proper catch weight even within Middleweight at 155, or just fight at 160, Martinez always shows up at 159 or less anyways :patsch

Catchweights make fights less interesting to me.

We came from a common ancestor. That ancestor is no longer around but his decendents are. One of line is that of the great apes (chimps, gorillas, etc..) the other line is that of humans and now extinct pre hominids (Neanderthals, Homoerectus, etc...). But we did not come from the ones that are still around.

actually you're right. as i recall, and its been a while, oscar made the catch weight demand after basically being beat by sturm and hopkins readily agreed to it since he would make a **** load of money and just to prove a point he came in that low. but you're right about the actual weigh in weights.

its actually pretty wild when you think about it, he came in that low and less than two years later he's fighting at lhw.

One pound does not make a huge difference, seems more like a psychological ploy to me. A psyche boost for Cotto and vice versa for Serg. Very telling where Cotto's mind is on this fight that he feels he needs this...Cotto will probably retire if he loses this one in my opinion.

Martinez sees a payday in cotto and so he is agreeing to any demands and terms! Martinez is on the out and wants to cash in.

Pointless. May as well win at the bargaining table since he won't win in the ring, though.

Evil. That reminds me: if God is willing to prevent evil but not able then he is not omnipotent, if he is able but not willing then he is malevolent, of he is both willing and able then wence comes evil, if he is neither willing nor able then why call him God.

    1) I still don't see what's so great about them.

    2) Seems like Homo Erectus is thriving more than ever these days.
