Btw I hate catch weights but I don't think it will be a factor. Only decisive factor will be if Sergio is still the same dude that ko'ed Williams and beat down Pavlik or not.

mind games written all over it.. I'm quite surprised though that Cotto would play this game. Very interesting if you ask me.

Im the dumbass , you and your pac of idiot is calling 157 a catch weight at middle weight .. Are you stupid or what ? If you weigh over 154 idiot your a middle weight, anything over 160 is super middle weight ..

So how is coming in a 157 a catch weight at middle weight, you idiot !

I swear some of these new boxing fans are something special

    http://www.ringsidebygus.com/boxing-weight-classes.html

So Cotto asking for a catch weight at 159 makes no scenes if the rules stipulate that middle weight is 155 to 160 to be the middle weight limit.

Don't be focking stupid . Thats a focking waste of energy to make a request like that .

Do you suppose Roach may have had a hand in this...since this is the same cràp he pulled on Cotto when he faced Pacquiao!!!

1 pound can be the difference between a fighter coming in healthy or eating nothing but water mixed with pills for 3 days.

Don't underestimate the difficulty of cutting weight.

Again, this is pretty simple stuff. A middleweight fight is a fight with a weight limit of 160lbs. A fight with a weight limit of 159 is a fight at a catchweight.

Hence its not worth making it a catch weight bummer, as Martinez will show up 159 anyways

Someone should talk Cotto out of it, its his chance to win a full Lineal Middle weight belt why ruin it

a fight at 159 is not a catch weight its a Middle weight fight. weight range for a middle weight fight is 155 to 160 is CONSIDERED MIDDLE WEIGHT DUMMY !

The request for a catch weight at 159 is as about as stupid as you guys posting this sh!t for discussion its still considered in the middle weight limit. Most middle weight weigh in under the 160 pound limit anyway . Martinez as always weighed at 158 or 159. Which again is with in the middle weight limit .

Agreed. Martinez has weighed in above 159 only twice in his career anyway, and both times he was 159.5, so I don't see Cotto gaining any real advantage here even though it appears as if he's looking for one.
