Jan. '09 when he got exposed as a fraud was the demise of Margarito and the birth of Margacheato...

Cheato definately would have used bricks on floyd, no doubt about it... smart move by Floyd to get more money fighting Baldo..

 

He will probably lose to Alvarez.

But even if he pulls that one off, neither Cotto nor Alvarez are a match for GGG.

Well, one thing is GGG won't be fighting with loaded gloves. Another big factor is the way in which Cotto fought Margoresto. He hit him with everything but the kitchen sink but refused to do things like tie Margoresto up to slow his momentum. He fought in a way with depleted his stamina badly and didn't do anything to negate Margoresto's offense. I think Cotto is a much smarter fighter now.

Also, even though Margo was a cheat, he had great stamina. I don't believe Triple G has stamina anywhere near what Margocheato's was. Both guys are/were mainly effective at midrange. Cotto or anyone else would be wise to fight GGG in the pocket. The couple rounds that Monroe had success were from there but of course he lacked power like Cotto would bring to the table.
