Fire Wegner, hire Nazim. The Man was there with Cunningham, another Sauerland fighter, and AA would be far better off with the Brother who can teach him some inside moves. King double A could be a devestating inside fighter at 168 given his physique and physical abilities, but given the disadvantage in reach, his current style is there to take apart by a big SMW. Of course Ward is an inside fighter, but that won't help AA who operates at a certain distance, but what made him so successful at 160 became his ultimate downfall at 168, and there will be no improvement under Wegner.

Regarding yesterday's fight, it looked to be the kind of live tune-up that could've given Abraham a lot of confidence with a solid finish, which was written all over it. Bozic was brave and took the fight to AA, who answered with a lot of body shots that seemed to hurt Bozic, but fired back swinging. That of course led to a misplaced shot and it was all over just like that, and just when Arthur was warming up. So there goes your confidence booster, much ado about nothing.

Hey Arthur! If Nazim is still around the hotel, just walk to him and ask for his services, that is if you want to have a chance vs. Ward.

Guys, that fight was stopped in the second round. We really cannot gauge the fight yet. But so far, Bozic has the upper hand when the fight was stopped.

They said Bozic was AA´s sparring patner for the first Miranda fight and that they had many rounds of sparring together.
I think AA´s camp knows exactly what Bozic was capable of. This was made to be a sure win for AA, regardless of the unfortunate injury.
AA jabbed with a bit more coinfidence an explosivness,he tried to work to the body early. Other than that he looked the same.
I agree he needs a new trainer. He won´t change his style, but he has to (re)learn some basics (head movement, footwork, inside game) and he needs to stop fighting so lazy.
Uli Wegner himself says it´s hard for him to reach AA.

Yeah, someone who made more than 10 fighters to belt-holders and trained quite a few more clearly sucks.

Abraham is a huge puncher. Those bodyshots thudded against Bozic and they were effective. Bozic landed some shots but its obvious that Abraham's punches are 10 times more effective.

Sometimes I see the comments of people on this board and think "what the hell are these guys watching"

    I agree.

Bozic came to fight and was landing some decent shots to the body. But I didn't exactly get the impression that AA was struggling or in any immediate danger. AA was actually more aggressive than usual and sharper in those first two rounds than he had been in a lot of his title defenses at 160.

This should have been ruled a no contest.

    Not a win for Abraham!

    Nope.

As strange as it seems, the ruling was correct in both practice and in theory.

If there is an injury from a foul and the fouled fighter can't continue before the given number of rounds (usually 4, after which they go to the scorecards) it is a No Contest.

If a fighter injures himself and can't continue, it's a TKO win for the opponent.

Klitschio-Byrd and Valuev-McCline are two precedents off the top of my head. :good

You have very low standards for body punching, if you think that was terribly effective.

"I didn't exactly get the impression that AA was struggling or in any immediate danger."

    That's true; neither did I.

I also didn't exactly get the impression that SB was struggling or in any immediate danger.

Saying Abraham was "killing him to the body" and "hurting him" and "about to have him out of there" might just be slight fanboy hyperbole, don't you think? ;)

Yes, (sadly) I've to agree. AA seems to have lost his confidence.
