He won't fight Shannon Briggs because his plan to look good coming out of retirement has backfired after the Arnold Garbage fight. I reckon he sees briggs as a possible banana skin fight because Briggs's chin being made of pretty solid stuff means he won't be able to impress the casuals with a clinical knockout.

 

80 year old Shannon Briggs is a terrible fight. If Haye can get a fight with a relevant fighter from this century he should take it instead (whyte, joshua, fury, even browne). If no meaningful fight can be made I guess it would be better than his recent come back opposition.

think we all know haye vs one of the champions would be a massive sell in the uk. he is a celeb personality so the casuals would be all over it.
