No i think he just was never in a position to negotiate on behalf of floyd. remember the team from south africa approached Jeff thinking he the sane one, but jeff ain't even close to floyd like that so it was a foolish move considering jeff is the furthest removed from the mayweather camp. Another reason he probably backed out was because of Don King as well as other advisors who were working on behalf of mayweather for that potential deal. Having time to examine what has been said, I can see what Don King is doing asking for 100million. You have to understand that the fight was offered as part of mandela birthday, it would have been held overseas, this deal wouldn't be the usual purse split via HBO, other entities would have come into play and don king probably thought they could milk as much money fighting overseas by this third party who offered the fight. I'm sure if the fight takes place in America then floyd and his team wouldn't be asking for such a ridiculous amount to stage or make the fight. But places like south africa and dubai it only right that they ask for more to make the fight overseas than they would have done if it was based domestically. What I find interesting is the lack of Golden Boy involvement in any of these negotiates. Seems like floyd has dissolved that relationship for now and is instead pursing potential fights with Don King at the helm.
