So, did Jermain get robbed in his rematch w/ Pavlik?

I had the fight a draw. So, no robbery at all. Nobody was hard done, and Pavlik did more work, so he got a deserved victory. It wouldnt have been a robbery if Jermain had been given the nod, because he landed the harder shots, and scored quite cleaner. But Pavlik scored more, fired shots in a greater quantity, and those three judges saw him overwhelm Taylor slightly with his heart and volume.

Somebodies gotta win the fight. Boxing hates draws. People should cease being bitter about their guy not getting the nod when he cant clearly seize the contest. Close fights have winners. Sorry it wasn't JT, Taylor fans. He got the nod against Hopkins in close contests, and got alittle lucky vs. Wright. It all comes around. This just wasnt his night for the judges to see things his way.

  2. Ok I just watched it and my views are that it was an amazing fight that kelly just edged not through superior boxing but through heart because it was that close I would have expected a draw were it not - as many have said - for the last two rounds and Taylor's tiring.

I loved the respect both men exhibited, Jermain especially. There's a man who is a true gentleman in every sense, fights with his heart on his sleeve gusty and commited and even in defeat is very respectful; the man has ma de a fan out of me and I will be rooting for him come Lacy!

It was Jermain with the puffy face afterwards. Yes, his shots may have been cleaner, but NOT HARDER. This is where everyone not in the ring with Kelly seems to under estimate him. Years ago I learned you could weight lift for strength or build. Ask yourself WHY he looks so skinny. When Jack Lowe was resonding about Jermain Taylor taking up hitting the tire with a hammer, I thought he was playing mind games when he said, "Kelly does it one handed"

Being from Younstown, I wanted to NOT like JT. But after the fight it was hard not too. But this cuts both ways. There was a bit about JT's mother coming up to Kelly and thanking him for not disrepecting her son. Kelly told her he was a great fighter and was sure he would do well at 168. I know they will probably face each other again, but I'm not looking forward to it.
