He injured in round 3. Making it worse as he fought most likely.

Not serious enough to stop him using the arm apparently.

3 rounds with Chris Byrd when you have an "all time great" chin (apparently) is going to get you killed?? I wonder how brave that makes Ali for coming out against Liston without eyesight

Because he actually tried to fight through the pain and finish the fight but the pain became too much for him and HELLO he has a Phd in Sports Medicine. He obviously knew what he had done to himself.

What I get a kick out of with this fight is how proud Byrd is of this win. He always cites how he was "coming on" and implies that he somehow forced the stoppage.

**** I'd be more ashamed than anything else if I were him.

Hang on a minute, not long ago someone claimed VITLAY was injured from the 3rd round on....he went 6 more rounds and felt he couldn't go another 3 rounds with his opponent. VITLAY hating aside here, you have to conclude that Byrd was in VITLAYS mind when he made the decision to quit.

 is that what you have to conclude?

couldn't you conclude that Vitali felt the injury was getting worse and that it was better to pick up an L than risk the rest of his career?

I agree with some of the haters here, that other fighters have had more heart and would have kept on fighting. But Vitaly doesn't have "no heart" either, and a heavyweight boxing match with a torn rotator cuff is no easy feat.

Charley Burley and Danny Williams are examples of fighters who finished fights with very serious shoulder injuries.

Byrd wasn't going to kill Vitali.

So because Vitali didn't risk fighting anymore with a possible career ending injury he's a *****.

But because these other fighters are stupid enough to risk their whole careers, their adored?

    Give me a break.

Yes you do have to conclude that, seeing as Byrd was the guy that VITLAY was facing in the fight in which he quit. What's ridiculous about that :huh

Yea he did. I read an interview with Sam Colonna and he said Andrew is basically a one arm fighter. Lots of people say he has that weird left hook. That's why.
