Even as a big Lee fan, I felt sorry as hell for McEwan last night for some reason

Really hope he comes again and makes some money

I was annoyed with McEwan. He should have won that fight!

    I'm sure that's a lesson he'll never forget, though.

    He should rebound.

Ya I thought it was a great weekend. Lee/McEwan was an exciting scrap, really enjoyed the Vazquez fight as well and seeing Martinez in action is always exciting. Cotto/Mayorga was alright, bit of a laugh to see Mayorga up to his old tricks again.

lee-mcewan, cotto-mayorga, martinez-dzinzurk... all good match ups so it isn't a suprise that all the fights were good. even martinez and cotto who won clearly were still in competative entertaining fights because they were fighting high level guys who are talented and well conditioned and skilled.

The Lee fight was a great watch and the Mayorga/Cotto was great entertainment.

But the UK stuff was hard to watch.

It was mixed emotions for me, proud as hell of Ricky Burns as always, but totally gutted that McEwan gave andy Lee a spanking only to gas out due to inactivity & lose so late...

Such is the life of a scottish boxing fan! I went to my bed after Craig lost, lost my appetite for the main events cos of that.

fair play Jonny, andy won & I gave him his dues on another thread. Like the Murphys? I aint bitter.

However? Only a fool would argue that an inactive McEwan was handing Andy his ass to him until he gassed, so thats why I made my 'spanking' comment. You have to remember Craig wasnt going to take this fight cos he felt he needed a warm up first, Roach told him to go for it though.

Take from that what you will my friend!!!

Lee came back after losing, at least four rounds, that was a good fight.

All good apart from the uk stuff. Martinez was excellent as usual, credit to his opponent for his durability / bravery! Lee vs Mcewan was also extremely entertaining.
