I thought Jones gave a good account of himself for the first half of the fight and looked dangerous. Before he ran out of gas and basically accepted his fate.
how do u know? maybe you're but maybe you're wrong, especially when calzaghe, even at 36 is closer to his prime then a 43 hopkins, won by a SD.
You guys I very much doubt have seen any Joe C fights when he was in his prime. The Lacy demolition was his final display of boxing talent. Prime for Prime is a pointless exercise because that can be applied to any fighter and any fight, in all history of boxing it is a rare fight that two great fighters come together both in their primes, both not carrying injury etc. It's like saying that RJJ should get no credit for his career because he never fought Chris Eubank in his prime (or insert another name). RJJ is a great fighter and has had an amazing career just like Joe C and just like Bhop. The fact that they didn't fight at primes is meaningless because it's pure speculation and nothing more. The real thing that comes accross in all of this is blind patriotism and fanboys of each fighter rather than genuine boxing fans. RJJ deserves absolute credit for his career, so does Bhop and so does Joe C.
Shouldn't be disappointed much with Roy, he did what he could. He simply doesn't have much left in the tank, and combined with Joe's abilities that led to a very one-sided fight.
I give him credit for doing what was expected. Joe beat Roy, got a nice paycheck and didn't anything to his legacy. I will not overrate the win. Calzaghe got put on the canvas by a past it and gun shy Jones.
Cant be disappointed when a man tried his hardest & gave his all. He just cant do it anymore, hes not 28yrs young
