so does anyone confidently think that Margarito will defeat Cotto?

  1. Margo has an edge in size, chin, stamina and a higher workrate and a lust for combat, he will win ...by late stoppage,,..

    It's 60/40 for Cotto . . . in my view.

I actually dont think this will be as action packed as a lot think.... i think cotto will be smart and skillfull in dissecting margarito, until around the 5th, 6th, 7th rounds where margaritos pressure starts to make a differance while cotto slows down a bit and then we will start to see the drama, but cotto is a cool customer, i see him outboxing margarito....

combo... backup... box... combo... backup, circle... box... ect,...

cant wait though. it will be high drama all the way regardless

Not all posters gunning Floyd for ducking is a Margarito fan. Most of them are "real boxing fans" who just call it as they see it.

    :rofl

Margarito is beatable. I thought Clottey beat him . Williams outpointed him. Do y'all really think those guys are better fighters than Cotto? I don't. I know styles make fights and all but Margarito has a lot of vulnerablities. He's certainly the toughest SOB at 147 but skill wise, he's not that good. Let's not let his win over Cintron cloud our judgement here. Cintron has a big right hand....that's it. AM kept the fight on the inside and Cintron had no answer for it. Cotto's no Cintron and IMO hes simply gonna outclass Margarito. He outboxed Mosely for ****s sake. Who would've thought Cotto, who was suppossed to be this one-dimesional plodder, would outbox Sugar Shane? Cotto's in another league. He's a multi-dimensional fighter now. He can bang, he can box, he can brawl.....I think he has the abilty to adapt to his opponent. Margarito has one speed, he's easy to hit, slow and I'm sorry, he's not that skilled. I see Cotto winning by either UD, or possible late round TKO stoppage (cuts or from a succession of body shots).

Yawn. Everyone knows by now (except you) that Margarito entered the Clottey fight with a sprained ankle (his backfoot). That essentially meant that he could not so easily back out of Clottey's left hook/right counter attempts.

He still won the fight. So it's irrelevant. Nobody really knows who is better out of Williams and Cotto. What we do know is that Williams underestimated Quintana so badly that he didn't spar with southpaws (first fight). We all saw what happened when Williams took Q seriously.

    Exactly.

I don't think Miguel Cotto will be able to withstand Margarito's constant barrage of punches. Like somebody pointed out, Cotto hasn't got a worldclass defence, so he will be hit fairly frequently throughout a 12 round contest.

Margarito ain't **** and he proved it against Paul Williams. I was at that fight, and he lost, and lost it bad. The pro-Margarito crowd stopped yelling in oh about the 5th round when he was getting his ass schooled.

It wasn't nearly as close as the judges had it. Everyone around me though Margarito barely won 3 rounds of that fight.

    Cotto UD easy.

And if Cotto wins, what do you think will be the legacy of Margarito? How about the other way around if Margo wins, what will be Cotto's legacy?

The question I have is which there is more fans confident of: Cotto winning in convincing fashion or Margarito winning in convincing fashion?
