so does anyone confidently think that Margarito will defeat Cotto?

I'm not 100% confident, but I can see him winning.

 

Cotto's legacy will go on because by no means is his career over because of one loss on his resume.

Margarito's legacy on the other hand will be dealt a very hard blow, maybe a finishing blow to his entire career. If he never does anything after losing to Cotto he'll be known as a good fighter who could never quite get over the hump and crack into the higher levels of the sport.

It depends on the nature of the win, JC727. If Margarito somehow steamrolls Cotto with a brutal early KO I'm sure everyone will be most concerned with the chin stuff.

Cotto goes to P4P top 3 in most people's books if he wins, including mine.

 

I don't know who will win, that's why fans want to see that fight. However, everyone knows that Margarito has the ability to knock Cotto out.

 

I'm about 3% sure he can pull it out.

I think Cotto will win this easier than people think, but not that easy.. He will get hit with some nice clean punches and probably some staggering ones, but I see him clearly winning..

I like both Cotto and Margarito, BUT.........

I am 110% confident in a Margarito victory and am laying cash on Margarito by KO. I will be at the fight in some good seats, Really looking forward to this fight.

If Cotto wins, I will happily eat crow, as both fighters are great for the sport of boxing, but I believe that Margarito is going to beat Cotto down something fierce. We shall see in a few weeks.

 

Yeah that's why williams backpeddled from round 6 all the way to the end of the fight. Granted Margo gave the first half of that fight away.
I don't think williams will be all that eager for a rematch with Margo either.
However, if there were a rematch, I don;t see Williams hearing the final bell.

 

I think this is Miguel's fight to win or lose. Cotto needs to box, box, box, and box some more. He really should try to avoid going to war with Margo.

 

Im confident Margarito will defeat Cotto.I keep saying Cotto's fighting stance is perfect for Margo. On paper and tech wise Cotto seems to be the favorite but Cottos weaknesses are made for Margos strength. The uppercut Margarito sets up is taylor made for that defense Cotto has that protects against everything except the upper.Its not like Cotto can jab from a distance like if he is Pwill. He will have to get close and thats gonna cause fire works. Margarito is too tough and will outman Cotto.
