Lets say he beats gomez.....and lets say that mayweather and cotto dont meet until late 09 (Very probable), could this be the path he takes?:

    cotto>gomez

Cotto> winner of cintron and margo

    Cotto> mosely rematch?

And then, would he have done enough in floyds eyes to fight him?
I mean really....what other path could he take?

Cotto will continue cleaning out the division and Mayweather will continue to take much less risky, money fights until he no longer can. Maybe then we will get to see Cotto beat Floyd's ass.. or Floyd will just retire undefeated and never fight him.

I dont like Cotto v Mosely 2, i think Cotto won a close but decisive fight with him, and at Shanes age i dont know what he could do differently.

Cotto v Margo/Cintron is a must, the only thing that worries me is the Mayweather fight not happening. I truly feel that Mayweather could retire tomorrow truly believing that Cotto hasnt earned the right for the fight.

What tools could that be? Sloppy, slow, wide, punches with little behind them and no defense?

Cintron had a mental breakdown and I think this time things might be a little different, then again Im not really holding my breath. Cintron may very well implode again. I really believe Cintron has the physical power and skills to beat Margarito. I also think Margo is at a crossroads here and if he beats Cintron has also got to get by Cotto before he sees any light, and I dont think he gets by both. Cintron is up to bat first lets see what happens.

Cotto will continue cleaning out the division and Mayrunner will continue to well, run, until he no longer can.

i thought the fight with mayorga isn't a done deal yet..

i heard bob somehow is going to unify with the winner of cintron-margo and i think the winner would be margo but either man, it will be a great fight with cotto

I agree. Mosley is at the point of his career where he is no longer improving. he is actually going down. He would have to do something really really impressive to create demand for a Cotto rematch

The Kermit that fought Walter did not allow inside combat because he kept the correct distance with his jab and right hand. The same Kermit can brutalize Margo if he keeps a sound game plan. Margo is the favorite here in my opinion and I expect Margo to win once again if Kermit shows he cannot handle the pressure. Kermit can do it but he must stay focused.....either man is in for a tough night against the mini bull Cotto, I think both men have the tools to beat Cotto but can they deliver like Miguel....I don't think so.

I just hope he doesn't get lured into fighting Mayorga...what a waste of time ! If he beats the winner of Cintron-Margo, instead of a Mosley rematch...I'd go for the winner of the rematch between Quintana-Williams and unify all belts except PBF's WBC !!

Cotto would then be in command as much as PBF during negociations for a fight...

I think Cotto will stay on the right path ... get a few unification bouts and it will be mandated by the public that these guys fight.

HBO will notice and force the action (HBO the real promoter) and get these two in the ring.

I don't see any mega fights on course this year so why not make this **** happen. After last year HBO isn't doing much to keep the trend going.

I expect Cotto to beat Gomez, Margarito/Cintron, and Mayorga this year. A Floyd fight will be made in 2009.

This is what Cotto will do:

    1. Fight Gomez

    2. Fight Margarito-Cintron winner

    3. Fight Mayorga

    4. Fight Clottey [mandatory]

Decent list.....entertaining if he fight PBF after that he will have a solid trak behind if and possibly when he loses though Cotto is one hell of a live underdog.
