that was quite funny. Calzaghe was dancing and whooping round the ring ....celebrating beating a fortysomething as the pinnacle of his career. It was the funniest thing we've seen for a while.

Man, other fighters beat the fortysomethings on the way up before they win titles, not as their end product.

The closest thing to Ward vs Calzaghe was Hopkins vs Calzaghe. Hopkins did well vs Joe esp early in the fight before he tired. Ward won't tire so easily and unlike Hopkins, Ward is in his prime physically and weight wise. He is much faster then Hopkins also a better offensive fighter. Hopkins even in his prime was never as fast or had the reflexes Ward does. Anyone who think that Ward doesnt have a very good chance of getting a decision in this fight needs to remove some Welsh nuts from their eyes.

 

Ward is already being talked about as an ATG and he still has 6-7 years left in the game. At the same point in his carrer, who was saying that about Calslappy other than his publicist Bailey or one of those Team Elite *** boys? People who talk about the history of boxing talk Hagler, Leonard, Robinson, Pep, Monzon, guys like that. Nobody mentions Calslappy in that same breath. That's because nobody outside the UK gives a damn about Joe. The UK's boxing legacy is not very good, especially when 80% of it is based on a guy who retired unbeaten and took 0 risks. That pretty much tells you why Calslappy is so beloved by all the Euro's, he's pretty much all that they've got!!!!

Do you still think Dwyer was not right? Calzaghe was very talented but somehow untested in the US. The win over Hopkins in not the best shape was close while Roy Jones Jr. was not in his prime.

 

Ward is American so of course he's better
