I think you need to take a good look in the mirror and examine your own humanity when under duress. Ask yourself this question:

"If you were in Floyd's shoes, was blatantly headbutted by your opponent and could taste your own blood, grudgingly acknowledge your opponents apologies (plural as he apologised several times), receive instructions to continue fighting.....

I guarantee you, you would trade in "Queensbury" for "immediate retribution!" The ending was unsatisfactory but understanding in the circumstances, in my opinion.

i agree, knowing it became a more heated fight after that cheap shot that ortiz had done he should have been more vigilant. But looking at slomo, cortez wast even looking on the fighters when floyd fired that left hand, what cortez saw was the straight right.

Because Ortiz wasn't expecting a cowardly move from Floyd. He must know better.

While enjoying cheers and support coming from his cowardly fans, who believe that that punch wasn't cowardly.

A coward punch in a professional boxing match? Did Floyd seem like he wanted to be hugged? Ortiz is too stupid to deserve defense or pity. If Floyd had a gash above his eye rather than a bloody lip would this finally make people take his side for once? Technically he was right and common sense says he right for not believing that bs apology for the headbutt. Butt and kiss. Ortiz got issues.

not a fan of floyd, but he did nothing wrong here. At the end of the day, this isn't a game of tennis, where if you lose, it's just your ego that is bruised. if you lose in boxing you might even die. Why take the chance? Ortiz left himself exposed, and he got punished for it. Floyd was just exorcising self preservation, and as he said, just a few seconds before, Ortiz had headbutted him. If Ortiz wants to apologise for pulling a dirty move, then fine, but he shouldn't expect the person he has just headbutted to suddenly be his best friend.

I know it hurts, I feel you.

Floyd fans will never admit it, but that is a sad victory for Floyd. A victory isn't sweet if it comes from cheating.

That ending was strange. Did Ortiz really think he was going to get away with a headbutt like that? I mean does he practice that move in sparring? WTF?
But really how many times do you need to kiss a man in the boxing ring?
I'm not a floyd fan but I would be break people mad if that happened to me.
He pulls an illegal move then wants to make out with floyd in the ring. Then he touches gloves in the middle of the ring and does not defend himself?

    That is very strange.

    :rofl

ortiz...the guy who tried to crack floyd's face with his head...then apologizes? that ortiz?

he didn't expect to get punched after touching gloves and the ref says "box?"

Insane. I guess the next fighter should just kick Floyd in the nuts. If the fight aint DQd Floyd should be polite to him and TRUST that the same guy will be SPORTSMANLIKE in the future and wait till the hugs stop. Makes sense.

perhaps, not to sucker punch ortiz? floyd could have taken the high road and beat him like a true fighter but he has to sour the win by doing his stuff.

How is it even a sucker punch? The only sucker is Ortiz who expects all to be ok after Floyd has blood running down his mouth. Ortiz the dumbass from Kansas.
