Mayweather vs Canelo, Garcia vs Lucas, Broner vs Maidana (Not official but it looks like it will happen), Thurman vs Guerrero (Not official but it looks like it will happen.) And gbp fighter Seth facing Arreola.

I completely agree but this Time Warner thing is going to seriously hurt their bottom line if this beef with CBS isn't settled before September.

Don't forget that HBO has some decent fights coming up and many fans have short memories...

Top Rank can't compete with GB right now, it's not even close.

BUT Top Rank has signed some great talent in the last year.

    Jose Ramirez
    Oscar Valdez
    Felix Verdejo
    Vasyl Lomachenko

But those fighters are years away from becoming stars and we don't know if they will even say with Top Rank. Still it's good that Arum is still investing in the future but right now they are playing second fiddle.

Alvarado-Provodnikov, Marquez-Bradley are good fights guided by TR. No doubt, though, that this was a better year for Golden Boy than Top Rank. In recent months, Golden Boy has done best out of all the promoters.

What excites me about TR is their recent signings:

    Vasyl Lomacheko
    Oleksandr Usyk
    Ryoto Murata
    Khabib Allakhvierdev
    Denis Shafikov
    Alejandro Perez
    Sean Monaghan
    Karim Mayfield
    Ik Yang

With the exception of the last five (probably about as good/decent as they'll ever be... still not bad for signs) -- these are top fighters being dug out of the amateurs for TR to promote!

Not to mention the signings over the last couple years (who they are building up this year):

    Terence Crawford (21-0-0 16 KO's)
    Zou Shiming (2-0 0 KO's)
    Felix Verdejo (6-0 5 KO's)
    Andy Ruiz Jr (20-0 17 KO's)
    Jesse Hart (5-0-0 5 KO's)
    Matt Korobov (20-0-0 12 KO's)
    Jesse Magdaleno (15-0 11 KO's)
    Michael Finney (12-0-0 11 KO's)
    Jose Felix Jr (21-0-1 19 KO's)
    Mikael Zewski (20-0 15 KO's)
    Glen Tapia (19-0 11 KO's)
    Abraham Han (19-1 12 KO's)
    Oscar Valdez (5-0-0 5 KO's)
    Trevor McCumby (12-0 10 KO's)
    Toka-Khan Clary (6-0 5 KO's)
    Jose Ramirez (4-0 3 KO's)
    Ivan Najera (10-0 8 KO's)
    Mike Lee (11-0 6 KO's)
    Alex Saucedo (9-0 6 KO's)
    Ivan Najera (11-0-0 8 KO's)
    Tramaine Williams (8-0-0 2 KO's)

    .....need I go on?

    they've really loaded up.

TR probly has some guarantee that HBO will be buying a lot of their fights (exclusivity deal). There's also Macau where I think they will likely be doing a total of at least 6 events a year.

GBP has plenty to learn before they can even be on Arum level. Just because they're cards is stack their company is better . A master like Arum can turn a cards like that into three separate dates. Golden Boy is a long way away from being on TR level.

Maybe GBP is thinking, if they can give people an unforgettable night of boxing they will more than likely tune in to their next ppv. The angle GBP is taking I can see creating more fans, what Arum does is ensure his profit margin, plays it safe by depending on hardcore fan guaranteed buys. This has been a boxing business model for as long as I can remember back with Don K. I'm not sure if what GBP is doing has been tried before but, it's definitely worth a revisit.

Gbp is doing better than Top rank.
The fans are the winners through all this.
    This year has been great
Sky sports and box nation have done pretty good too.
