At this point, I wouldn't take either De La Hoya or Mosley over Mayweather at 147, but take their 2000 versions, and I think they'd do enough to beat him.

Compare the 147 pound list with the 140, 135, and especially 130 pound lists of fighters I'd take over Floyd and it's notcably larger, simply because as great as Mayweather is, I don't think too highly of him H2H at welterweight. At 130 though, I favor him over just about everybody with Hector Camacho being a 50/50 fight.

I dont think DLH, trinidad or quartey could beat PBF.
I'd replace em with Ike Williams, Aaron Pryor, and young James Toney.

Just for shits and giggles? Love to see PBF vs the version of Lamotta that beat SRR:lol: Fritzie Zivic vs Floyd would be intiguing also.

    Gotta add,
    The Hagler that destroyed Hearns
    Winky Wright at 154
    Carlos Monzon

yeah i remember in his 2nd fight at ww when he fought zab after that joke of fight with mitchell, that when i saw him fought zab it was clearly noticable that he is not the same fighter at 147 than in those lighter weights I saw a Fraud much more stationary than ever before with not as quick feet as before his speed diminished a little bit and tends to rest along the ropes way more which is not a good recipe if ur r going to face a fighter like cotto, or maybe margarito

I agree. I assumed we are talking about fighters still at or near their best.

henry armstrong. he had a tremendous punch output but great stamina as well. he would have been one of the few people to keep up his sustained attack on pbf. but thats not to take anything away from pbf. I have henry armstrong beating just about everybody at LW and WW

Ike Williams was best at lightweight, but even then, I actually wouldn't pick him over Mayweather because 1) he had trouble with fast movers and 2) he often fought his opponent's fight. Aaron Pryor is somebody I'd take over Floyd as well. He never fought at 147, but if he carried the weight well, it would be a damn tough matchup for Floyd. Toney is too big (160 pounds).

I definitely see Quartey beating Mayweather. The physical size, strength, rocket jab, and shell-like defense being the key ingredients to a win. His jab would prevent Floyd from getting into an offensive rhythm and would keep him at range. Not only that, but it would negate his potshotting - as would his excellent defensive skills.

Hear ya on Williams but I'd give him a shot. I certainly dont believe Floyd's all that at35.

Quartey couldnt beat DLh and lost to Vargas. While he'd make a fight, I think Floyd outpoints him.

 Ike is one of the worst matchups for him. He'd completely nullify Floyd's game and make him uncomfortable all night.

Here's my choices, though I don't really qualify, as I'm not a Floyd fan. This is just at 147, not including 130-140.

Is there a reason you're placing Floyd with MW's?

DLH, Quartey, and Tito would definitely beat him. For a Floyd hater you sure seem to be giving him the benefit of the doubt when faced with bad style matchups. A well past prime Oscar can push him to an SD(or in reality still a close fight) but a prime one can't beat him?

You really can't add Loi? Based purely upon what you know?

Man, I can't wait for Floyd to prove you wrong about Cotto ;)
