Of course it was a catchweight fight. They signed to fight at 144 (not a real weight division limit) and that was the understanding until 2 days before the fight.

:|:|:| Pac did the same thing and got KTFO by Torrecampo and it was for a title. What a joke.

Oscar/Pac was not a catchweight fight. It was fought at the full WW limit of 147. It was certainly a big disadvantage to Oscar to make a weight he had not made for 7 years but it was not a catchweight fight.

Yes JMM counts. Dont rate a guy #2 P4P then cry foul when he gets totally outclassed by the number 1 P4P fighter after a 2 year lay off. No top 10 P4P fighter should never be such an easy tuneup after such a period of inactivity. Size had nothing to do with it just like size had nothing to do against Manny. There's Floyd.....

    Wlad/Ward

Then everyone else. Bottom line. It's irrefutable.

Good point. Size has nothing to do with boxing and that's why there are no weight classes and Chocolatito will be fighting Wlad next month! :happy

It only counts if the smaller fighter wins.

Does that mean Pacquiao dragged Oscar down in weight? Which is more dangerous than going up. Help me understand.

:nod Manny dragged Oscar down, Floyd dragged JMM up. Both are not great in their own way. However, only one of those 2 fights was technically signed at a catchweight.

They are both tainted victories IMO which is why I never bring them up.

Marquez will never trouble Mayweather at any weight.

It might as well have been. DLH, the bigger man, came in weighing less than Balcquiao fight night gaining only a couple of pounds from the weigh in. His body wouldn't rehydrate. FACT!

    Oscar was the Golden Raisin

Deleted because my years were mixed up :lol: Mayweather was actually incorrect saying Pacquiao was still at lightweight when he dragged Marquez up, so the :patsch is on me, Pacquiao was comfortable at 147 by the time him and Dinamita fought and Marquez hadn't gone back up to chase Pacquiao. So there is no logic to suggest he would be ridiculed for 'bringing Manny up'.
