Wont mind GGG vs Lara , but its not the same at all , Lara will want 1.5M$ north for this fight which is a big chunk of the total purse , and the issue is he doesnt pay it back , if GGG had some russian guy spewing money they wouldve had bigger figths then what he had so far thats for sure , nobody who is good wants to get punched hard in the face for little money.

I don't live in the UK, and over here hardly anybody knows him. Over here Lara has been in big fights with boxers who had a good fanbase and has either beaten them, or been robbed. Over in the UK Lara is probably a bigger name as well, based off the Canelo fight so I'd say he's probably more famous then the Englander Martin Murray, I mean Bill Murray.

Just because people know him doesn't mean they like him.:yep Or enjoy watching him.

Lara is certainly not well known in the UK. I guess we will just disagree. Not really a way to know for certain. Most likely neither will ever be th a-side of a mega fight anyway.

The Canelo "fight" didn't help his cause at all

Lara's rematch with Vanes got 491k, and that was with a stacked card with 2 other title fights on it. He got 446k against Delvin Rodriguez on Spike, a basic cable station. Zaveck was 482k on ESPN, the second lowest rated PBC they'd shown.

In 2013, he got 429,000 in the fight against Trout immediately prior to Canelo. Now, imagine what that 2013 number would've been if HBO hadn't had 500k+ viewers competing head to head.

Why are people ****d about viewing figures? We're supposed to be fight fans not business fans.

Clearly Lara would be a better opponent than most, he has called G out publicly, it will be a tough style for G to overcome. I say make it happen.

Obviously if talk of Canelo moving back to LMW is true, then we can see G vs Jacobs for the new lineal title as well. Then hopefully vs Saunders for all the marbles.

He's a fine opponent if none of the other top middleweights want to be the voluntary.

That said, public callouts don't mean jack. When his team contacts GGG's to actually talk business, that's showing genuine interest. When that happens, I'll assume they're actually chasing a Golovkin fight and not just piggybacking off his name.

Do you think GGG is better than Angulo?

You say that, but it's Canelo and Oscar's fault why there'll be no big fight in September.

Not nearly enough people, apparently

Like I said, I don't have a problem with Lara as an opponent. I respect his skills. When he actually tries to negotiate for a fight instead of posturing in order to piggyback off GGG's name, I'll give him the credit for it.

I wouldn't mind watching Lara run for a couple of rounds before getting KTFO. It'd be a waste of time for GGG's detractors though. He'd suddenly be a blown up 154lber who had Canelo problems.

Unless Golovkin punches out God at at infinity weight then I feel the OP will continue to cry himself to sleep over GGG's dominance over everyone at 160.
