Usually if you're willing to fight anyone over a given weight range the implication is that you're willing to fight at the class of that fighter. No one would praise Mayweather for saying he was willing to fight Wlad or anyone from 147-heavyweight (at 147).

People can say all they want but at the end of the day GGG now has 3 of the four major belts. You cant seriously call that a bum, specially if he gets the fourth considering hed be the only undisputed champ arouns

He will move up. How soon depends on how long it takes to grab that last belt to unify. The money fights are with Ward, Kovalev of course Nelo. GGG needs a credible name to validate all the hype he has generated amongst many hardcore boxing fans. Unifying the middleweight division was always the plan since Able and Golovkin got together. Mayweather was the only name that Golovkin said he would go down in weight for which makes $ense. GGG plans on facing Ward, but trying to secure a fight with Nelo made more $ense.

Ouch.....that's some venom. GGG doesn't have a very strong resume with the names he has complied at this point in his career but he's doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing knowing Golovkin is a fighter operating at a different level.

He's got really heavy hands which adds to the hype he has been able to generate. But he has also beaten some world class opposition. Guys like Murray, Geale and Macklin are very good fighters and we're proven middleweight contenders before GGG went through them like a hot knife through butter.

How dominant GGG has been against the competition in the middleweight division has been noteworthy. Guys like Jacobs and Kid Chocolate would be a nice measuring stick to see if the hype is real or just a mirage.....but one thing is for sure, GGG has been getting more popular among casual fight fans.

This is pretty shocking. Canelo's drawing power is going to take a hit for this. Hispanic fight fans hate a coward. Duran never got the people's trust back after he quit against Leonard. I imagine dropping a belt is going to go down about the same.

The only thing that is a joke is your post. You come into the exact category of supposed "fans" that I referred to in my earlier post, who aren't really fans of the sport and only know about half a dozen fighters. Golovkin has knocked out 6 or 7 fighters who are or were top 5-10 ranked with the Ring namely Proksa, Macklin, Rubio, Geale, Stevens, Lemiuex, Murray. The reason you think highly regarded world top ten contenders are "bums" is your own lack of knowledge and ignorance of the sport. You are the type of fan that will see the names Mosley and Cotto on Alvarez record and say "oh look he beat Mosley and Cotto" whilst failing to understand that Mosley was 40 and shot to sheet and Cotto was in his late 30s and on his last legs.

The second part of your post is simply nonsense. As I stated in my previous comment, Golovkin is the one who has left his homeland comfort zone and travelled the world taking in anyone who will fight him. Ward is the one who has had everything handed to him on a plate and the dice loaded in his favour every time. And you think Golovkin should just had him the loaded dice so he can roll them again. Seriously, you're completely deluded. Never had there been a fighter before where top level are so afraid to fight on a level playing field.

[quote="TKO";17969035]This thread is totally spasticated! Is that how low this once great board has sunk? It is now populated by idiots whose only purpose in life is to hate on those who have achieved far more than they ever will with their miserable lives, aren't actual fans of the sport, only know about half a dozen fighters and consider all the worthy top 5-10 contenders that they are too ignorant to know about to be bums. "What, he's never fought Mike Tyson. Oh he must be a right bum then. What do you mean he's a middleweight, what's the difference?".

golovkin and the wbc had canelo cornered and canelo dropped the belt and ran.some top ppv draw he is.your a bad dude when you make the so called top ppv star run like the rest of them.canelo will lose his ppv status if he dont fight ggg next. it would be different if canelo admitted he wasnt ready for ggg, but he didnt,he is trying to fool the fans and the fans can see right through it.making the top ppv star wuss out is very impressive.ggg statas goes up caneloes goes waaaaaay down.

Add to that, he calls Mayweather out at 154, yet won't fight Canelo at 155.

Neither guy is what I'd call inspiring, but both are entertaining in the ring.

At least Canelo quit holding the belts hostage which is what I've been asking for since Cotto was doing it. Still I'm kind of disappointed that he hasn't lived up to his tough guy talk. Marquez, he ain't.
