Golovkin will have huge year. I am still hopeful that Jacobs takes the fight. If he does and Golovkin wins I see Canelo facing him in September. I believe Oscar will make the fight.
Usyk/Haye. Usyk/Ortiz etc. Those would be exciting fights no doubt. Usyk would be bringing a unique style and skills to HW. Be interesting to see!
Its shaping up great. Already you have AJ-Klitschko Garcia-Thurman Frampton-LSC Jack-Degale GGG-Jacobs(tentative) Haye-Bellew will be fun in the UK Oscar saying that GGG-Canelo WILL happen. 2017 looks like the year of the best fighting the best finally. 130 will the division to watch. Lots of top fight to be made there and have already started with Loma-Walters, and Miura-Roman, Berchelt-Vargas and Davis-Pedraza
Great post. What's your thoughts on 147? Do you reckon Floyd will be back? If not, who do you see being "the man" at that weight come the end of 2017?
I think I'm in the minority of people who don't see Floyd returning. Unless some mega-money fight can be done against Pacquiao, then hes not coming back. I cant see Brook hanging around 147 for too long. Think hes only sticking there for maybe one more money shot, so I think he'll have moved to 154 by the end of the year. Its a tough one, but I think Thurman beats Garcia...and I think Spence beats the winner, so using that I think Spence will rise to the top. If TR and PBC can get Pacquiao in the ring by the end of the year with one of those guys it will be very interesting. Manny of just a couple of years ago, Id pick against any of them, but by the time a fight like that could be made, he'll be pushing 38. I think TR make a Manny-Crawford fight as a way of passing the baton, and if Crawford moves to 147 the things will get real interesting!
I honestly think Povetkin will be right in the hunt. He still seems very hungry and shows no signs of slowing.
AJ-Wlad - Mismatch, easy Wlad win. Garcia-Thurman - Actually competitive. Frampton-LSC - Mismatch like the first. DeGale-Jack - Mismatch, easy win for Chunky. GGG-Jacobs - Brutal Mismatch. GGG-Canelo - Even More Brutal Mismatch. Haye-Bellew
He is getting old, who's to say the layoff and lack of meldonium won't effect him. Also, who says Wilder or any other HW will actually face him in 2017.
It will be interesting to see your opinion of AJ IF he beats Wlad. Will it go from 'AJ is a bum and has no chance' to 'Wlad is old, it means nothing'?
