Well he didn't really slam him as much as he lifted him up and Forrest let go. Also the triangle Forrest had locked in would have counted for more as it was an obvious attempt to end the fight.

Don't stress it bro!!.. a couple of these clowns in here can't stand their skirts being ruffled!!, i completely agree with your opinion, this isn't a Boxing vs MMA thing, even a novice to the game could see Rampage was hard done by tonight.

Well, submission attempts account for a lot.

Clean punching doesn't matter as much in MMA because there are more than a single way to finish a fight. Control on the ground matters, as well as submission attempts, as well as good kicks.

The fact that Forrest has a triangle locked in is huge. Against anyone but Jackson that might have been a finish right there. Also, the fact that Forrest landed great leg kicks, and dictated the course of the standup is a lot. Jackson wanted to bang, but Forrest wouldn't let him.

Also, Forrest landed some decent knees in that fight. A lot of what Forrest landed in the standup may not look like much to traditional boxing fans, but it surely wasn't nothing, as demonstrated by Jackson's limping off after the fight.

Round 2 was a total and complete domination. I was surprised Forrest wasn't able to posture up and finish the fight right there. Round 5 I thought clearly went to Forrest as he dictated the action and landed really good blows.

Rounds 1,3, and 4 were all close. Jackson probably pulled out Round 1 by hurting Forrest at the end, but rounds 3 and 4 were much much harder to call. Sure, Rampage punches harder, but I am not positive he actually did more damage in those rounds. Forrest seemed more aggressive, and he landed some pretty decent leg kicks. I have no problem with Forrest taking one of those rounds.

It isn't the most clear cut decision in the world, but I think Forrest winning sounds perfectly reasonable. In no way do I see Rampage winning. The rounds Forrest won were CLEAR CUT and the rounds Rampage won were very iffy.

why would you say that. i had money on Rampage and i think that he lost the fight. if what you are saying is true why did Rampage say he lost, plus his corner.

this is another thing i dont understand about mma fans...

why do you guys not embrace kimbo?

the guy could potentially be awesome for your sport and maybe be able to do for mma what tyson did for boxing....

no doubt hes not your traditional fighter and hes rough around the edges...

but c'mon you gotta like teh dude man..
    his image is insane
    his story is insane
his attitude is good.. doesnt talk alot of trash and isnt stupid

ps im from miami (where kimbo is from)

honestly because real MMA fan know that he isnt a good fighter. he should have been stopped in his last fight IMO. once he steps up he will be beat in 1 round. i dont blame people for likeing him at all. he seems like a decent guy and i cant blame anyone for wanting to get paid, but my point was if he is all that excites you about MMA stick to boxing. he would get killed by anyone with subskills.

im not a big fan of mma but i can tell on a large scale... hes like a c ish level fighter ... you gotta give him a break though hes only been training professionaly for 2-3 years correct? and thats compared to people who have been doing forms of martial arts & or wrestling for their whole lives.... so you gotta give kimbo credit for trying and doing a decent job so far of adjusting.. now obviously his handlers arent going to put him in there with any wolves yet.. you gotta milk his name for all its worth and gradually have him fight better and better competition until he is cleary and officially ready for the big dogs... i hope his learning curve is high enough to eventually become an A+ level fighter... i think the type of fans that mma wants would require someone like kimbo to be somewhere at the top of the food chain for them to consistantly tune in.... *not sure if that came out correct but you should know what i mean*

The problem with Kimbo is not that he isn't moving along fast enough, its that he is being marketed by Shaw as this premiere fighter that is indestructable or something. Meanwhile people in the know see it as a slap in the face to guys more deserving of the money and publilcity as being a headliner. Fighting cans in the main event is what boxing does, its not what MMA should be devolving to. Shaw is not good for the sport thats all I can say about him.

    thats business man haha

you gotta understan to attract mainsteam fans.... people who ordinarily wouldnt tune in for an mma event.. you have to make it seem like watching this guy is really worth their time & money... so obviously kimbo already has an image that you couldnt find even in an intense action movie... he has the story to back it up to make it seem that much more dramatic....

then its the business of shaw to get kimbo recognized outside of the mma world and make sure they make it seem "that important" to see this indestructable force who's known as kimbo

    its just business

i agree with you that for the amount of time he has in he is doing just fine. the problem is uneducated fans say that he is the best fighter in the world and going to knockout everyone he fights. i know that isn't what you are saying but we see it lots so it gets a little tired. if anything Kimbo has to downscale his opposition for his next fight because if he steps up i think he will lose. anyway more power to him, he is getting paid and people seem to love him.

He's 34 years old and is a completely below average fighter in every aspect, Tyson was 20 years old and the best in the world.

They could not be any less alike.

    THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!!

    from an entertainment standpoint......

tyson was a freak and bought excitement to the ring and it showed in his attendance during fights and ppv #'s

kimbo has already sold out 2 arenas and im not sure about his tv #'s but im sure there phenomenal ..

    tyson made boxing mainstream
kimbo could potentially make boxing mainstream
