In the great british tradition of rewarding runners up, Ricky just joined Lewis Hamilton as favourite... "Aww bless him, he tried his best".

Seriously though, I think we have to acknowledge how good Floyd is... He fought the perfect fight: great timing, speed, accuracy and defensively he made Hatton look almost amateur at times. I only gave the first to Hatton and possibly a share of the second or third (can't remember) but I could see the stoppage coming from the midpoint.

Those short arms are a right old hinderance!

Hatton vs Witter anyone? Or will it be De la Hoya?

I feel some of us have been proven right...firstly on the fight and secondly how Hatton is very overrated. He got thoroughly dominated and stopped. Sorry, but if Wicky was p4p material he would've done better.

The amount of **** I got for me prediction.....that it will be close for 2-3 rounds then Mayweather will win going away for a late TKO.

I'd love to see Hatton vs DeLaHoya. It would provide Hatton with a great world stage at which Hatton could redeem himself.
Also; Having witnessed the class deficit between Mayweather and Hatton, Hatton DLH could provide us with the slugfest/competition we sought form Hatton/Mayweather in the first place... If Hatton played his cards right he could set up a future rematch with Mayweather after (Hopefully) a more prolonged welterweight campaign.
And when it comes down to the wire; I think Hatton could smash DeLaHoya...

    My mum is English.
I have more close English mates than Scottish ones.
I lived in England for 8 years.
Witter and Haye are 2 of my favourite fighters.

want me to go on....or do you feel stupid enough already?

Why would i feel stupid i have read alot of your posts and have seen the anti english bias, i don't rate you as a poster and think your a joke. You slated ricky hatton before for swearing and then praised hopkins for racism what a top guy you are.
Also do you dislike your mum as well then:huh

Why doesnt the stupid general public of Britain vote for a winner for a change?

    Joe Calzaghe for SPOTY.

Finishing second means nothing. Hatton finished second, just like Hamilton.

I second that , nevermind j.c. has just won a big fight but what about the fact that hes been at the top of his game for a decade and britain doesnt often get winners for that kinda time lol were so used to losers we like them . Dont get me wrong i have no problem with hatton or hamilton but j.c. deffo deserves it more than them.

calzaghe is in a different league to hatton.

But its his own fault he wasted his time before lacy and kessler, fighting meaningless fights, when he should have fought meaningful ones. He would still have DOMINATED his opponents.

    Calzaghe for SPOTY.

I think Kessler was a harder opponent for Calzaghe than Hatton was for Mayweather.
