I don't normally do the sports science bit, but I've heard Booth refer to Hayes genetics and a friend keeps mentioning about fast twitch muscles with Caribbean athletes and their descendents. If you google it, it refers to explosive power followed by gassing which the athlete recovers from if given time. Normally good genetics to have for a sprinter.
Don't know if these is well known in boxing but I found it interesting.

i've heard of fast twitch muscle fibres but not with the gassing and recovery. it is interesting that probably the majority of great fighters are/were genetically blessed in some way. you cant learn to have a great punch , great engine, fast hands or great chin, youv'e either got it or you havn't. i thought it was shitty when haye was ragging down arreola about his physique. arreola could train as hard as he likes and would never look like haye. haye should count his blessings and definately shouldn't deride others who arnt as fortunate.

arreola was a lhw as an amateur, and he has been in reasonable shape some of the time. like here:

This was against Witherspoon I believe, he weighed 235, not ripped by any means but much slimmer than he has been recently.

The fact he doesn't stay in that kind of shape shows how ill disciplined he is.

there has been no scienfic evidence to support that certain ethnic groups have higher levels of fast twitch fibres to other ethnic groups, too much fast twitch aint all that good either especially not for a 12 rounder

I did some kind of athletics test not long ago, apparently ive got alot more fast twitch fibres than slow twitch.. it means genetically im more explosive but in terms of stamina im not as blessed as most. Its also proven that black people are born with more fast twitch fibres hence why there 100m sprinters

I know there are other issues at play but I think the results of the Olympic mens 100m sprint tells a tale. Whens the last time a white guy even made the last 8?

It isnt alwys the case but black guys can have more fast twitch fibres than white guys, I say that cause there are plenty black guys who are world class marathon runners as well. But Haye will probably have very slightly more than average.

I agree with most of what you say but the bit about arreola is bull****, if he worked hard enough he could look like haye. Yes genetics do influence body type etc. But you can also nurture your body to be what you want it to be.
