Disgusting....Haymon good for boxing doe... but he's about to get his fighter stripped and miss out on a payday he won't ever get again. Showtime doesn't pay anybody that much money... and he's going to miss out?

Clear duck move! 1.4 million dollars because this guy is an actual fight unlike Guerrero and Konency?? Probably having flashbacks of Rosado, who actually came to fight!

Steve Kim just said that Quillin will most likely vacate to fight Danny jacobs.... WTF? Is he that scared of Korobov? GTFO of here!

If that's true then I really hope Jacobs knocks him clean out. Seriously, what a duck would that be.

    Really strange.

He'll fight for less money against Jacobs who I also think beats Quillin anyway... hmmmm

I honestly don't believe it's a duck on quillens part, no fighter in there right mind would turn down that money, it's the same serigo made against cotto

I think his asvisor controls him and is advising him to turn down a ridiculously high payday against a fighter who I don't believe I that special

Jay-Z's team had this in mind from day 1 when they bid more than Top Rank and GBP combined for the fight. Sometimes, people forget that Jay-Z doesn't like Al.

Bidding so much was a gambit that Haymon would balk, give up the WBO title, and take a big PR hit. It doesn't look good to any fighter considering Haymon that he's holding Peter out of a career high payday (as much as PPV b-sides make) and having him drop his title rather than defend against his mandatory with neutral judges and a neutral ref. Many of those that have signed with him are left wondering what they just got themselves in to.

And, unless something changes in the next 5 hours, the gambit's worked.

Perhaps those more legally versed than I am can answer whether Al's provision of needing to sign off to approve every fight is even legal for an "adviser" or if that's a possible violation of the Ali act of managers acting as pseudo-promoters.

Unless Haymon can guarantee him more.... he's gotta be mad that his adviser let his ego get in front of his clients best interests and cost him a career high pay day. No way Showtime pays more than 1.4

Wont Haymon also lose money? His money comes from taking a cut of his fighters purse doesnt it :huh

There is no way haymon can get him more money unless he personally gives him 1 million himself

Doesn't make much sense to vacate to fight Jacobs. Even if Quillen loses to Korobov the Jacobs fight would still sell in Brooklyn about as well as it would now. Point blank a duck IF he doesn't fight his mandatory, a guy who isn't a stellar fighter to begin with

What's hay mon on 5-10 percent? He loses around 100,000 , don't know what he makes in a year but considering all the fighters he has it's not that high of a percentage

Quillen making 1.4 million wouldn't be too far off what his earned in his whole career and he will never get a pay day like that again

    Seriously!
He can have both... but now he'll have one. Best interests my ass... If Quillin stays with him afterwards, he's a goddamn puppet

Usually its more like 10-20% depending on the contract.

Ive seen as high as 30 but thats rare.

Still dont really understand not signing. Hopefully it all comes out.

Or better yet, he just signs the contract.

I think Jacob beats him anyway, if that fights made

Tbh honest given 30 % to a manager is insane and a fighter would be an idiot to do so, 5-10 is fair

I think quillen loses which ever fight he takes
