He knows he will lose that fight and so does al Gay-man, Funny but I feel he loses the Jacobs fight as well.

Haymon would probebly prefer him to lose to Jacobs so he can keep the belts

And people will still sign with him because they'll see the people who get paid a lot without him getting paid a lot. He did work with Bika though...but that's the only way he can get a Dirrell rematch in

What are you on about haymon isn't a promotor. Or so they say hah

His an advisor, you know advisors are supposed to have there clients best interests at heart. At the moment haymon is advising peter to give up his title, throw a away a career high payday and I duno sit on the sidelines for a while

With advisors like that who needs a bloody recession hahaha

He looking out for this best interests though. Seriously..... If Pete is stupid enough to believe this... well... his own fault. He has a family to look out for right?

It may be a little stronger than advising. I'd read that Haymon actually needs to sign off and approve of any fight of Quillin's.

Basically, if Big Al doesn't want it, it doesn't matter how much the Kid does.

I'm not as well versed in it as those with a legal background, but it's a fishy situation.

Trying to corner Al would explain why Jay-Z's squad paid so much for this fight. They weren't just bidding against Al and Top Rank for this particular fight; they wanted to guarantee Quillin more money fighting Korobov than he could get for any other middleweight fight to force Al's hand.

Why? So people would start really looking critically at Haymon if he holds Quillin out of it and drops not only the WBO belt, but a career-high payday (by a factor of 3).

What I can't quite pin down is why Al just doesn't play ball, take his cut, and capitalize on the unrealistically high purse bid. I know there's bad blood between Haymon and Jay-Z, but surely he can't be this stubborn. It's not going to be business as usual if Quillin drops the belt in a half hour; this is bigger than just one title fight.

I see Quillin signing in the 11th hour just because it's terrible business for Haymon if he holds him out. It's going to get the attention of people with way more legal skill than a random poster on ESB like myself.
