Bidding so much was a gambit that Haymon would balk, give up the WBO title, and take a big PR hit. It doesn't look good to any fighter considering Haymon that he's holding Peter out of a career high payday (as much as PPV b-sides make) and having him drop his title rather than defend against his mandatory with neutral judges and a neutral ref. Many of those that have signed with him are left wondering what they just got themselves in to.

And, unless something changes in the next 5 hours, the gambit's worked.

Perhaps those more legally versed than I am can answer whether Al's provision of needing to sign off to approve every fight is even legal for an "adviser" or if that's a possible violation of the Ali act of managers acting as pseudo-promoters.

As to Ali act violations, probably.. but.. someone with standing - that is, someone bound by it would have to challenge it in court.
