It will not happen, Martinez done called out everyone from LWW to WW, but hasn't uttered Sergei Dzinziruks name or Dmitry Pirogs name. I am afraid our beloved 2010 Fighter of the year has started believing his own hype.

Expect him to do everything to avoid Dzinziruk.

He wants PPV paydays, Dzinderuk and Pirog don't bring the same money, if HBO stump up enough cash Martinez will take it

Martinez isn't getting any younger, and I agree.. he'll probably take it should there be ENOUGH money on the table. HBO needs to do the same to Berto next, they paid over $2m for the Quintana - Berto licensing fee for crying out loud. How about making him fight someone worthy for a change.

Obviously, look at them punting out for Berto like he's some sort of demi-god.

Still, Martinez - Dzinziruk would be a helluva fight, actually.

What has Pirog and Dzinziruk done to deserve a fight with Sergio Martinez, both men are undefeated, but untested, Martinez doesn't have to prove anything to them they have to prove their worthy of fighting him.

Both Pirog and Dzinziruk are good fighters but they have to do a little more to become legit challengers.

How long is Pirog going to ride that Danny Jacob's win, he needs to get back into the ring with someone of merit. And Dzinziruk his biggest win was over Joel Julio and Danial Santos.....nuff said.

If Berto doesnt fight someone with some credibility next HBO told they would not show it. Martinez said he doesn´t want to fight Pirog cos he has not had many fights and theres no point cos it wont give Martinez what he wants.
And lets face it. All Pirog did was KO the black dude for the WBO title wich was stripped from Martinez and it was complete bull****.

Nice fight Dzurnik is no joke. There isn't many better at the fundamentals in the game at the moment. Better than Andy Lee at least and a good event to me

Zbik sucks. Pirog doesnt seem that interested in fighting Martinez. Manfredo??? hahahahahahah Loerenzo? Mundine? the same Mundine who just got KO'd in 5 rounds by a complete nobody and hasnt beaten a good fighter in about 5 years???

Lemiux aint ready and neither is Guerrero esp considering he already is signed to fight in ESPN. Lee? nah. Geale? I'll pass.

Dzindiruk is arguably the best fighter at 154 or any of the surrounding divisions he just hasnt got the fights or profile.

This is def one of the more interesting fights for Martinez to take. Martinez himself did nothing at 160 except lose to Paul Williams and that got him a shot at the Middleweight champ. So being an undefeated long reigning champion in a lower weight class isnt enough to fight another champion?:patsch

Sergei Dzinziruks was supposed to have fought Alfredo Angulo next, but Angulo got sent away, and now Sergei and the rest of the 154lbers are safe from the most vicious 154lber in the world right now-Angulo.

Its affirmitive action for Sergei, Cotto, Kirkland:lol:.

First, the fight is two years too late as they fight in different divisions today, and Dzinziruk turned down Martinez a few years back, so Maravilla is not so adamant to give Sergiy the chance of his life, and you wouldn't be either in his place.

On the other hand HBO tosses Martinez around as if he was some bum, so he'll agree and once again have his answer in the ring, so I think the fight will go through. It's a huge fight for the hardcore boxing fan BTW, too bad discredit is written all over it (people don't rate Sergiy as high as he deserves to be rated at LMW and Sergio will be tagged cherry picker on smaller guys).
