So Hearn got a deal with a non-entity in boxing that allegedly COULD be worth $1bn over EIGHT YEARS if a SIX YEAR EXTENSION is picked up after year two and all profit expectations, which are based on nothing, are met.

WTF is wrong with you all?!?!?!?

The deal is actually for 2 years and to stream 16 new shows in the US each year on the internet. The other 16 shows are either worthless in the US or he is LOSING MONEY by not being able to sell them to broadcasters like he does now. So assuming what Hearn says is true, by simple maths we know it's actually a 2 YEAR $300mn DEAL at best. So Hearn has negotiated for all his current and future fighters a deal worth exactly what Showtime gave to Floyd Mayweather in 2013.

There is ZERO current user base and nobody in the US has ever heard of DAZN. Users have to pay double the cost of showtime for the privilege of using this service they've never heard of. It's not even on TV. It's basically a much worse version of Boxnation.

Now you're all so sure it will succeed based on Hearn signing the Charlo's, Errol Spence and Wilder. All these guys are fighting for the PBC on a major network with a gigantic subscriber base. You all claim PBC got $900mn+ UP FRONT from investors. How is Hearn gonna prize them away exactly? PBC has way more money than Hearn's tiny deal even if he got the full $300mn up front, which he 100% did not.

Stop riding Hearn's tiny crap stick for 5 minutes and understand what is actually going on for once in your pathetic lives. This is smaller than Boxnation in the UK, much smaller than ESPN's streaming deal, MUCH MUCH smaller than the PBC and about on par with Lou DiBella's lame AF streaming service.

I’m exciting personally to finally be able to have an easy way to watch his cards here in the US but I would definitely agree that it’s not at all what’s he hyped it up to be lol. I also think he’s going to struggle to find subscribers here. There’s already an abundance of sports streaming services here, it’s going to be hard to ensure DAZN doesn't get lost in the shuffle since they probably won’t have the streaming rights to any of the four major sports here.

Yeah that's very true. This deal is a gamble as there is no established subscriber base in the US. How well it does will come down to a lot of details including which fighters Hearn can sign on and even then you have to wonder if people will be willing to pay the extra money each month to see Broner or the Charlo's when before they saw them for free. Yes they were paying a subscription already for Showtime or ESPN but they won't cancel that when they get all the other good content and just switch over to DAZN just for boxing.

Pricing for this will be crucial, if they charge too much it could kill the service.

18 months' time when this DAZN deal flops, Hearn will be on IFL: "You got to understand Koogs, the American fans don't understand boxing. Sweet Caroline. The money is in the UK. AJ. You understand Koogs?"

The biggest issue DAZN have is acquiring sports rights in America.

Will be interesting to hear there plans when they launch which do not include boxing.

So while we are all sitting here (and hopefully we are all doing well, living well and healthy) Hearn is signing 1 billion dollar deals and you are giving him grief?

And I love that bit about.. "profit expectations, which are based on nothing"

Errr Wilders numbers and potential purse Vs AJ, his PPV and Ticket sales expectations are actually based on nothing but that didn't matter over the last few months did it?

Bottom line is there is more money going in to boxing and you want to take leak all over it, are you sure you're a boxing fan?

Frank Warren sold Boxnation to BT and screwed its subscribers. Boxnation was low rent to begin with and has been a total failure. At least Matchroom know how to run a successful business.

Hearn's move is one of the BEST he could have made.

DAZN is literally the future of sports. Millenials DO NOT care about cable TV and PPV. It's the generation of Netflix, Amazon Prime and SkyTicket. Traditional TV is dying and Hearn is smart enough to see that. He's a mastermind and boxing will become great again, just by the fact that there will be lots of great fights probably every month for a few bucks on a streaming service you can watch on your TV, your computer or even your cellphone if you need to.

All the traditional networks are literally shacking in front of what DAZN becomes, a great example is football in Europe, where the dynamics slowly change.

The way the economy is going and the ease of finding FREE streams for sports on the internet is a massive flaw in this business model.

Millennials DON’T WANT TO PAY FOR ANYTHING. Look at all these IG chancers trying to make a living from freebies.

A large chunk of the target market, especially young people, will just watch these DAZN cards for free.

As a millennial who doesn't pay for ANY sport or TV but yet watches it plenty, I can confirm.
