I’m sure you would however rush to open your curtains if Eddie was rimming Joshua outside your window.

I cancelled Netflix as it's just full of trash filler shows with generic actors/actresses.

DAZN isn't available where i'm at so i don't particularly care too much about it. I do believe Hearn may have set himself up by having more pressure on his shoulders than he has with sky.

DAZN investors may be a bit dissapointed. I mean maybe they're really big boxing fans and don't mind taking a loss initially.

UFC just did a big deal with ESPN to put their archive, contender series, looking for a fight and fight night shows on ESPN's streaming service ESPN+ plus in a 200 million dollar deal. Which is more reasonable for ESPN.

I also think you have to factor the tv rights streaming deals the other big players like FOX/Disney, NBC CBS, Paramount, Amazon, Netflix will try to create with the NFL, NBA,...etc.. will try to pull off.

Cause the argument for it i gather is DAZN are using this as some sort of leverage to get more sporting events on their streaming service? How will they beat the juggernauts in terms of getting those rights? NBC CBS have the premier league. Fox has the nfl/nba

I know with amazon and netflix they have their own shows, different movies,...etc... ESPN has their own content and now have mma coming to their streaming service along with boxing. HBO have HBO GO with their hbo tv shows like GoT which perhaps is more enticing than just picking up DAZN for boxing.

Eddie has already stated he plans to put prospects on DAZN. DAZN has the UK ppv events. I just think the majority of the shows might not be worth it initially until it grows and becomes more of an attraction.

32 shows with 17 of them being next gen cards. If DAZN get some of the fights like Lomachenko vs Linares or one's previous shown on boxnation then it would be worth a buy for the hardcore.

Eddie essentially has nothing to lose just the investors might shriek later down the line.

In all the interviews now it seems like he's ''begging'' fighters to join him. I'd like to see good fights and if he can pull them off i'll be happy.

    On the espn deal

    http://www.fightopinion.com/2018/05/10/ufc-disney-espn-bob-iger-marriage/

Amazon is Best of Breed in maximizing cloud computingbut they’re not stupid nor desperate enough to reportedly pay UFC $150 million dollars a year for a bunch of events. ESPN & Disney are, however.

The collapse of carriage fees on cable for ESPN means they are competing in a cutthroat streaming business market. One big competitor in the combat sports space is DAZN, who just hired former ESPN boss John Skipper. DAZN is going all-in with promoter Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing for $125 million dollars a year. ESPN+ has Top Rank Boxing and will now have UFC content.

The biggest challenge for ESPN is being able to produce content that doesn’t conflict with contractual obligations to the various major cable providers. In order to get UFC content on ESPN+, it was going to cost a premium. $150 million a year for 15 shows is ridiculously reckless. In comparison to DAZN ponying up $125 million a year for Matchroom Boxing? Maybe not as heartburn-inducing as first thought.

ESPN+ is $5 a month or $50 a year for a full-time subscriber. Between the amount of subscribers needed along with digital advertising, Disney’s “investment” in UFC is a really risky proposition. It’s the equivalent of buying a mansion as an income property in hopes of paying off the mortgage using cash flow from others.

Amazon was never going to be able to offer UFC $150 million dollars a year nor should they have even considered doing so. What Amazon could do was provide an explosive platform to grow merchandising and advertising revenues. What Amazon represented was not a guarantee but an opportunity. For vulture venture capitalists, the guaranteed cash always beats out the promise of opportunity. The financiers aren’t playing around.

If you had told me from the start that someone was willing to pay over $100 million dollars a year for streaming rights, then I would have never considered Amazon to be a serious threat. Amazon could have made Fight Pass bigger than anything UFC could have ever imagined but what’s the point when Disney is throwing cash at you like a drunk sailor?

The story of UFC’s new marriage with ESPN speaks much more to the state of Disney’s health than it does the health of UFC. Disney is in a Comcastic death grip over the fight to acquire Fox Sports assets. Comcast pressuring Fox with a 15% premium over Disney’s largely stock-based offer means a future explosion. ESPN used to be the safest, take-it-to-the-bank business play. It was the 30-year American T-note. You could never fail with all those cable carriage fees because it didn’t matter whether or not people actually watched the network. The ESPN+ business model is no guarantee and Disney’s reliance on UFC to save their sports network is a remarkable turn of events for those of us who covered the sport of Mixed Martial Arts from its very modern beginnings

This “billion $ deal” will be a major failure in US, although I will buy a membership and really want it to succeed , I just don’t think it will have any success.
Prob more than 50% of boxing viewers in US are over 45 and they will not stream it, those in their twenties will stream it once in a while .
So imo if it’s not on public cable , not on hbo or showtime ,you can just forget about it.

Here in Canada DAZN is $20 per month or $150 for the full year (so $12.50 per month)

I would gladly pay $150 for the year IF they decided to go the 4K route.

First things first, why isn't Hearn asking for "Proof of Funds" from Dazyn? Their yearly REVENUE is WAAAAAAY less than the amount they have "Committed" to him on this deal but he doesn't seem at all suspicious! LOLZ

Yes. I'm massively predictable when it comes to calling out fat poofs with a silver spoon shoved so far up their arse they have a constant squint.

Unfortunately me and your demi god Hearn live on the same side of the pond. Like 90% of Brits I'd be far happier if he lived in the middle of it though.

That's right. I'm too amazing to disappoint anyone. Even idiots get to bask in my glory.

I'm guessing that was a vague attempt at a joke. I mean, there's no way to really be sure but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt on it. I've always been very generous to humourless morons.

Exactly. 16 Eddie Hearn mismatch parades and the exploits of Jarrell Miller and Danny Jacobs are hardly ever gonna be big business.

Al Haymon made AJ a legit $50mn offer and him and his master ran a mile. Hearn has now admitted that.

Perform Group turned over less than £300mn in 2016. In the past they reported a net profit in the region of 2.2%. So, even if they've doubled their turnover and margin in the past year and a half, which they 100% have not, this is a company that makes in the region of $25mn profit a year. Only a complete knob would think they have anywhere near $1bn to commit to anything.

The truth is Hearn makes a relative F all from Sky and his gates are relatively tiny in world terms. Perform Group are a bit part player with Revenue figures that can barely cover this "commitment" they have made to matchroom. Hearn is lying to everyone again and they are not putting any more money into boxing than any of the other much bigger players in the US market.

Boxnation was a TV channel with a streaming service from the early days. Hearn has just given his mismatches to a streaming service with no channel. How is he so successful again? Oh yeah, that's it, his dad owns snooker, darts and a load of other pish sports that he used to parlay into a cut price exclusive sky deal a couple of years ago. Be sure to thank your gods at matchroom next time you're watching fishing or tenpin bowling cos without that crap they wouldn't be "in charge" of sky boxing lol.

Wait a second, isn't Perform Group the same company that already streams all the crap pub games and retired geezer hobbies matchroom televises? Hmmm. It's crazy how these coincidences keep happening to fat poof Eddie.

LOL. Streaming is becoming a big deal. DAZN remains a complete ZERO. It's not even in the top 10 sports streaming services in the US. Jarrell Miller and Danny Jacobs aint gonna get it there.

STFU. Netflix was an early adopter who dominated and consolidated early. Also, they have mass appeal and acquire and create A-Grade content. DAZN is like the 5th boxing streaming service launched in the US this year and has much much less to offer than all its competitors lol.

They have 120mn subscribers and they charge $20 a go. Somehow those turnover figures don't seem to add up. Oh yeah, they went private so they can straight up lie to mugs like you about how many people actively pay for their BS.

32 nights of top boxing?!?!? Matchroom?!?!?! You mean 30 nights of Hype jobs and nobodies fighting in mismatches and 2 AJ fights if he can successfully duck all the PPV worthy opponents.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Epic.

I agree with you. I'd also pay any amount to see Jarrell Miller's huge rack bouncing in QHD. #Delish

It's called Irony. AJ is a big stiff idiot who's blood is 95% PEDs. That's just a fact.

Everything I've said is irrefutable fact. Licking Hearn out has become such a way of life to you morons that you think anyone who calls him out on his obvious BS is a troll.

You're living in The Matchroom. An evil false reality Hearn has created so he can harvest your wallet to feed his unquenchable thirst for amyl nitrate. I'm desperately trying to shove my red pill down your throat but you want to stay plugged in so you can keep believing Dillian Whyte is a killer and Danny Jacobs is a draw. It might feel good, but you have to know deep down it isn't real.

Licking hearns? I do that? Weird....since I don't give as many shits about him like you and some others do. And now I want 'To believe Whyte is a killer, and Jacobs a draw', another odd one, since I don't believe in either. What would make you say those? Very trollish of a response.

If your intent was to prove you aren't a pointless troll, you failed miserably. Save your cut/paste response for someone it actually applies to kiddo...

Now I know you're just trolling. Riding Hearn's nub into the ground one post then almost flirting with criticising him the very next. Nice try.

I should have seen the signs when you made absolutely no argument and showed no ability at all to refute anything I've said. I'll take your pathetic attempt as a limp wristed apology for your own stupidity.
