And The argument that Vitali would be favourite against a prime Tyson is very misguided IMO. We are not talking about the man who came out blazing for a few rounds and then gave up, ie the latter version of Tyson.

Prime Tyson had so much more than Vitali its not even funny. I will happily admit that this fight is intriguing, but a prime Tyson should win it handily on paper. Whether he can KO Vitali is dubious, perhaps not; he could well get a TKO however.

Tyson was just so much faster on his feet and so strong and dangerous on the inside...Vitali has one way to win - leaning back further than the tower of Pisa, jab Tyson into submission and stop him late, unfortunately, we are talking about a prime Tyson here, and I dont think anybody, not Lewis or Holmes could have done that to him, and certainly not Vitali.

Its a hard fight to predict, but I would predict Tyson swarming all over Vitali from the off and landing HUGE shot after HUGE shot against a Vitali who just cannot deal with Tyson's speed of hand and foot and is unable to keep him off. Where it goes from there is anybody's guess, but a prime Tyson is not gonna get worn out, worn down and stopped. So he either gets a UD or a TKO, or Vitali's corner throw in the towel.

Had nothing to do with style. Wlad dominated 10.5 of the 11 rounds they fought, he had a metabolic imbalance when he lost. It happens, has nothing to do with stamina as such. I am a former triathlete and marathon runner, this has happened to me when I could run a 2:40 marathon.

I find the Tyson - Wlad matchup very difficult to judge. Tyson was in no way invincible in his prime, like he is often made out today with all the nostalgia. Being spectacular as he was is entertaining but is overrated in boxing. Michael Jordan was super - spectacular in his younger days, but only won championships after he became a more effective team player. The difference between spectacular and effective is better acknowledged in other sports than in boxing, where the adrenaline rush of a savage fighter like Tyson is preferred by so many over a methodical approach like Klitschko.

Wladimir has never faced the combination of speed, movement and power that Tyson brought to the table. Tyson in his prime never faced the combiantion of power, accuracy and skill that Wlad has. Tyson was intimidating, but not necessarily mentally strong, as was shown later in his career. He occasionally struggled with really big men who were not half as good as Wlad. Wlad rebounded from career - threatening losses much better than Tyson. I could see Tyson winning a first fight, Wlad learning from it an winning the rematch. When Tyson and Lennox Lewis sparred as amateurs. Tyson at first manhandled Lennox. After a few days, Lennox had figured him out an frustrated Tyson. I think Wladimir could adapt, maybe by losing a first fight and then figure Tyson to beat him.

Exactly. Tyson has a legendary associating with his ****ing NAME. Therefore, he can't be beaten by a modern guy like Vitali. At least in the minds of these romanticized boxing ***s who are saying such.

Tough, strong chinned fighters who stood up to tyson kicked his ass. He was beaten into the LOONY BIN by Holyfield, lol. And he's not tall enough to bite Vitali's ear = he gets his ass kicked.

Actually I've seen a few people in this thread giving Vitali a chance....it's just nobody thinks a chinny Wlad has a chance!!!

    Seems fair to me!!!

Which fighters have tyson fought who hold the ring as good as wlad, have a strong jab constantly in your face, wlad is quite a underdog in here and even though he does move back when he get's hit he is straight back on that jab, constantly back and fourth, so underrated on how great wlad controls the pace of fight's, but he aint no chageav tyson is something else but if wlad can keep him behind the jab, i would take wlad

i'm a big klitschko fan, but vlad against tyson would be very difficult for vlad, he must hit tyson in the first round with big big rights, if not tyson would be too aggressive and knock klitschko out, vlad must destroy the confindence of a prime tyson as fast as possible, thats his only chance. but vitali, i'm sure he would have knocked tyson out, tyson would have hit him hard, but i think vitali can take it, and after that it's vitalis turn, and he is like a ****ing killing machine(but only in his prime, right after the lewis fight)
